PREGGO Belly band: pros and cons?

HI all!

I'm 11 weeks along and I am looking ahead for the next few months when my clothes won't fit. I already have a few pairs of pants that are a bit snug, and while I can wear them, it is making my indigestion worse

I was reading in one of my books about a belly band- and the reviews I've read online say they can keep me from maternity clothes longer, which I'd like to do, since they are pretty expensive (I wear an 18/20 tall pre- pregnancy- plus size preggo clothes are $$$!!)

Does anyone recommend them? Pros and cons?

Thanks!

I got one when I was about 3 months preggo and used it exclusively until about 6 months when I had to give in and buy maternity pants. I would definitely recommend it! It worked well with jeans, but even better with softer fabrics like khakis and skirts (I guess since they are more light weight they are easier to hold up). I am now 35 wks and I wore it last weekend with a skirt - it was a lot tighter, but still held everything up!

Hope this helps. I got mine at target, but I think it is still the belly band brand.

I had them for my third child and LOVED them...worth every penny. They let you wear regular pants longer, and also helped keep the maternity pants up (for whatever reason, my maternity pants would always ride down, but the band over them worked wonders).

I have one from Target that was only 16.xx (I think) that is o.k. it tends to roll up a bit and I'm always having to straighten it out after sitting, but I can also get away with wearing a lot of low-rise jeans/pants during my pregnancies so I don't wear it that often.

With my last pregnancy I splurged and got a brown one and black one from their site. I loved them so much then that I kept them for 5 years! I ended up using them a lot this pregnancy too. I even use them after birth as a girdle of sorts. It helped my uterus get back into shape quickly....only took about 2 weeks to get my flat stomach back.

I say go for it! They are so worth the money.

Just FYI, I got the original BellaBand and didn't have this problem. You'd think they'd all be the same, but I guess there is some kind of difference.

I work in the operating room and wear the scrubs that tie at the waist. With the first two pregnancies it was frustrating at the end of the pregnancy because it was difficult to find a place to tie the pants up. The scrubs wouldn't go completely over the belly. Tie at the waist and it slips down because it's not elastic. Tie under the big belly and there's a bunch of fabric all saggy and they still fall down. So with the BB I just slipped it over my pants and voila...instant maternity wear. I tell all my preggo friends about it, particularly the ones I work with Although I paid $30 for each one, I definitely got my money out of them.

P.S. CONGRATULAIONS!!! :duck:

As a plus sized mommy myself, I just wanted to comment. They are well worth the investment. I was able to wear most of my pre-preg clothing until the 7th month. I was also able to start wearing my regular clothing within a few weeks with the belly band. I actually wore these so much, my white one will need to be replaced for the next baby.

I got mine after I was in maternity clothes, but I used mine to help keep my tummy from showing as even my maternity shirts got shorter. So you will be able to use it now and later into your pregnancy.
