Default Need advice for overnight diapers for 14 m.o. please

Ok...so my son is almost 14 months old now and he wears size 4 diapers during the day and has no problem.

At night, he usually wears size 5 Huggies overnite diapers (size 4 Overnite can't hold anymore) and everything was fine until the last 2 nights...it leaked and woke him up at night...wet..then he's having trouble going back to sleep which is not good for mommy and daddy since we both work in the morning.

I'm not sure what to do anymore, he can't wear size 6 yet because right now he only weighs around 23-24 lbs, and I think size 6 is for 34 lbs or more so it'll be too big for him?

Any idea what I should do? I already tried Pampers Extra Protection and it leaked too...only huggies overnite seems worked before but I guess not anymore...

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Sisca

How about lining the diaper with a thin maxi pad for extra protection? Just a thought.... :) Good luck!

I am having the same issues. For his weight he is size 4 but he leaks. I tried 5's and didn't see a difference. I decided to cut back his liquid intake before bed and it seems to be working. HTH

there are diaper doublers out Diaper Doublers, On-Line Store you may find them...at your local grocery store...and BRU has carried them in the past...not sure if they do now.

We also found...cutting back at night can help. for my son we use an overnight diaper and then we put a pull up over that...and that seems to have helped the most.

I've found that reducing liquids after dinner seriously cuts back on soaking diapers. I do that for my older DD in preparation for potty training, and I don't give anything to my younger DD because older DD will want it too.

Even though size 6 diapers say they're for 34lbs and up, my older DD who weighs 30lbs has been in them for months. You can try them to see if they help at all.

A diaper cover (the kind for cloth diapers) will do wonders over a disposable diaper for the leakage. That way, you can put him in an overnight diaper that is too big and not worry about leaking through the leg holes. If you get a Dappi Cover, they are inexpensive but hold up pretty well without much fuss.

And ditto to the less fluids after dinner. Or, if you must give him the after dinner fluids or are still having trouble, try putting him in the tub with warm water and a swim diaper to play for 15 minutes or more on to encourage a little leak before bed maybe? It might help a bit.

If I remember correctly, my DD had a similar issue around this age. She used to drink from her sippy cup a lot. Less fluids after dinner
