Default Advice needed on Double Stroller

Okay, here's my dilemma: My 2-year old weighs 38.5lbs. Most of the double strollers I've run across are only rated to 40lbs per seat. I have a Chicco carseat and the Chicco double stroller is only rated to 40lbs.....We have an SUV, so fitting into the trunk isn't a concern.

I did look through the 2009 thread on this same topic, but since strollers change so frequently, thought I'd ask for new opinions.

I don't want to spend a ton of money for something she'll outgrow in 1.5lbs! Since we'll be doing lots of theme park stuff, with lots of walking, she'll get tuckered & need to be able to at least sit (if not nap) in the stroller. We do have a sling for the baby, but in the Florida heat - those are dreadful most times.

I also want a double stroller that will accommodate an infant in a lay flat position. I want the option of not having to keep her in her car seat.

Our main uses:

Walks around the neighborhood
Theme parks, zoos, aquariums, etc (we live in FL and have LOTS of those types of things around).

This is the one we have Graco Quattro Tour Duo Double Stroller in Milan

the graco quattro. The back seat folds down flat...and the front seat can carry up to 50lbs.

It is super easy to fold (way easier than the other graco double) and takes up less space than a regular double in a vehicle.

Default Re: Advice needed on Double Stroller

I have that one also. I think it is good for younger kids (like the youngest is under 2). It is heavy, but it's a double stroller with lots of storage, so it's going to be heavy. I always laugh at review where people say "it's so heavy wah wah wah". Uh yeah - it needs to fit 2 kids lol. Anywho, the front seat is not that big. My average size 2.5 year old almost hits the sunshade on it, and she is by no means tall. The sunshade on the front is also really small. It's fairly easy to maneuver, but sometimes miss sticky fingers in the front gets her hands on something she's not supposed to because I just can't see that far. So easy to fold, kind of awkward to pick up and put in the truck just because of its size, and the basket is really decent sized. We use this when we do zoos and parks, and it fits everything we need plus some.

But I long to get a Baby Jogger City Mini double. It is so pricey, but that is my next purchase. When we go to Disney in January, this is what we are renting to use. It has a HUGE sun shade. Both sides recline independently, and the sunshades work independently too. It is a side by side, but it fits through standard doorways. The weight limit is 100lbs total on the stroller, so you could use this for a long time to come. Sad thing is coupons at BRU or at diapers.com are no good on the Baby Jogger brand.
