Suicidal brother.

Ok lemme start from the begining. He has tried to kill himself once or twice before. For what reason im not sure of. Well he has been with his girlfriend for 7 yrs or so. They got married in april. She started working a month ago or so. My brother stays at home. somehow he hooked up with some girl he met at the mailbox and slept with her. Just sorta happened in the moment. He said his wife wasnt showing him affection and being rude and obnoxious and slept all day when she wasnt at work. But it happened last week. He told her today. Now she said she is gonna leave him. My parents are gonna or threatening to kick him out. SO now he feels like he has nothing to live for. He sat there for 4 hrs with a knife contemplating killing himself. I really dont know what to do about the situation seeing as im in a different state. I told him when he feels like that he needs to go to the ER but he doesnt want to be bakeracted(sp) again. He said that place made him wanna kill himself even more. I told him to look on post secrets website for the hopeline number too. Other then that im at a loss as to what to do. His phone hung up earlier and freaked me out cuz he was really upset but then i got a hold of him again. the fact that he is home alone right now doesnt sit good with me. But if i think something may happen what do i do? BUt then again who knows when and if he would do something. He may or may not always call when he is upset. Im just confused!

on the phone with him now, he keeps saying he has nothing to live for....what do i do!

call the local police dept where he is at...NOW.

And then call your parents.

Don't debate... don't worry about upseting him... Get him help. Remember, his life may depend on it.

call the local police dept and send them to his address. tell the dispatcher that he has attempted suicide before and that he is dispondent over his wife leaving him...and that he had a knife earlier . tell them his physical description and his phone number's if you get disconnected.

he is going to be mad that you called, but you dont want to feel like you did nothing. he is screaming for help. give it to him.

i plan on getting the local police depts number on hand. he doesnt sound as upset now. He says he is getting drunk, I told him that better be it. i do not like the fact that he is drinkin but im states away. he regrets doing what he did. I dont have my moms cell # and my brother says he cant find her number. says he is on his 6th beer in 30 minutes. they usually get off around 6 im hoping. Cuz i have no way of getting a hold of them. But honestly my dad prob doesnt care at all! seriously. my mom does. but my dad just is like whatever. Him and my dad get in arguments almost physical. I told him he doesnt need to be trying to kill himself. He has people to live for. Maybe not in florida but up here. At least he is not as upset.

I'm a therapist. Keep him on the phone, while you call the police on another phone. They will go to his house and then transport him to the nearest hospital. He will be assessed and then bakeracted if he needs to be. I will pray for you.
