Default I thought breastmilk poopie didn't stain...

    Title says it all.

Ezra is almost 4 months old and is exclusively breast fed. I have a sleeper and a pair of shorts (from one of my favorite outfits!) sitting on the dryer. They've been washed- still stained with poopies.

What can get this out? I have Dawn soaking them now, praying that it all comes out. *sigh* I also scrubbed them with Greased Lightening. (it's all I have at the moment)

    Help?

I second the sun bleaching suggestion, thats how I keep stains off the cloth diapers.

I've had a lot of luck with the stain removal recipe from The Tightwad Gazette. You might even already have it. It is equal parts of Cascade (powder) and clorox 2 for coloreds (powdered) added to sink full of hot water. Bonus, it even makes my kitchen sink extra clean and shiny. I used this for all 3 of my kids baby clothes and I still use it for dingy socks and whites. I usually let it soak overnight or until hot water has turned cold. Then wash as normal.

Have they been put through the dryer yet? If so you may have already set the stain.

I favorite stain remover is a bar soap called Fels Naptha (Fels-Naptha) you can find it in the laundry detergent aisle and I use it by wetting the clothes and the bar of soap and scrub lightly with an old toothbrush. It gets 99% of all stains out of our clothes if I catch them before they go in the dryer. When my oldest DD was 5 she fell and split her chin open (needing 14 stitches) and bled all over her brand new dress. By the time we got home from the emergency room the blood on her dress dried (and it was soaked in blood!) so I got to work with the Fels Naptha and toothbrush and it all came out. I also used it on baby stains, vomit, grease, etc. It is one of those old fashioned products that really works!

Simple Green works well too. You can either use it full strength or dilute it. I had a white winter ski jacket type coat that was had oil, grease and dirt on it....for years. lol I sprayed it with it, let it sit for a while, then washed it. It came out white again.

I have also used it with sucess on other stains. So you have lots of choices here to try! Other folks also have some great ideas!

its breast milk spit-up/puke that doesn't stain not poopies. i use oxyclean baby. it seems like a permanently have a bucket in my laundry room filled with hot water, oxyclean and dirty kids cloths. i will scrub with the an old toothbrush and the oxyclean water mixture before putting it in to soak though.

and i've found oxyclean has worked really well even on "set in" stains (aka DH did the laundry and didn't check if there were stains that needed to be pre-treated).
