So you have soy formula..basically for the next month....I would probably go ahead and give it to him.

My baby also had a milk protein allergy and we were told by his pediatrician to altogether skip soy and go straight to the hypoallergenic stuff. He told us that unless it's for vegan/vegetarian reasons, that you should not give your child soy.

Soy has been linked to cause tumors, shrink brain cells, age...
The only soy safe to consume is soy sauce because it is fermented and the hormones are destroyed in the process.
Check out DR. WESTON PRICE.ORG web site, that's the one I remember from the top of my head.
That's really funny because I've read the same things about giving children cow's milk and meat that has been treated with antibiotics and growth hormones.

Here is an article about some of the risks of eating dairy, with results from studies done at Harvard.

Milk: It does a body bad

FYI, I love dairy products, and I love soy too. I just wanted to show that any point you want to make can be found on the web.

I take everything I read with a grain of salt, but I do know first hand that my son is allergic to milk, and I have seen what it does to his body.

So if it's for allergies or wanting your child to do a vegan diet...I would say it's okay...otherwise I would stick with a regular formula.
Haven't both soy and cow's milk formulas have been linked to diabetes?

The Weston Price folks have some recipes for some meat based formulas, but they seem like some of the most controversial parts of a highly controversial diet:shrug7:.

The other options are to eat a dairy-free diet and pump or have donor milk (granted how feasable these would be would depend greatly on your individual situation. I'm not living in lala land where I think they they would work for everyone. Just throwing other ideas out there )
