One time the checks totaled $28, and I bought however many cans of the liquid to get over $28 (7 I think) and they always took them all... | This is a YMMV situation. Around here that would never happen. I am currently buying formula and here are a few ways that I have saved:
1. Beg/ask at every pediatrician visit. If you have an older child, (I have a 4 year old) I ask as well for some - the baby is with me!
2. Target sends baby homemailers and they are usually $2/1 which you can combine with a formula check.
3. Watch Target for gc deals with b2 get $5 gc, you can use coupons and formula checks and roll the gc.
4. Ask your mom, friends, local mom's group, sisters, etc. to sign up on the sites for the formula/checks as well.
Once your baby is hooked on the formula - like the 2 month mark they stop sending you the checks or only one at a time. I know my daughter (4 months old) goes through a can and 1/2 a week. So I emailed the formula company and told them that the major competitor was sending me a bunch of checks/coupons and that I would be changing formulas since saving moeny was important to me. Low and behold they sent me a sheet of checks. I plan to do this a couple more times during the year of formula feedings.
Congrats on your little one! Formula is very hard to save money on but I hope these few tips can help you stretch your dollars more!
