Failed my 1-hr GTT (Updated)

by 4 POINTS!!!! The cutoff is 139. Mine was 143. Now I have to take the 3-hour test ARGH!!

The sad thing is I told the OB I would fail the 1-hr because I always do, but I always pass the 3 hour - but he still insisted on the 1-hr first "just in case".

I failed my 1 hour by 2 points but passed the 3 hour with flying colors, as my OB said, then he told me I could eat whatever I wanted. LOL Who tells a pregnant woman she can eat whatever she wants?

That stinks you have to do that. I was borderline on the 1 hour and they made me do the 3 hour and passed that just fine. Good luck.

Aw, I know that sucks! I failed the 1-hour by like 30-something points, but passed the 3 hour with flying colors. Try not to worry too much about it. :) I know it is frustrating, though.

Good luck! I failed the one hour with both kids. I had to fight being sick for the 3 hour both times because i hate needles and getting stuck made my stomach roooolllll. I was borderline on the 2 hour draw for both, but they did not make me have a special diet.

I failed the 1 hour with all 3 of my kids, but passed all of the 3 hours tests. I have insulin resistance, which is a big reason why I failed the 1 hour tests. You might do a search for IR because it is an early indicator that you'll have diabetes later in life. Since diabetes can be prevented and/or reversed with the proper diet it is something worth checking.

eek..that stinks, it happened to me with DD. I forget how much I was over but it wasn't alot, but got mixed numbers on my 3hr then normal numbers at my 7 month. Good luck with your tests and just chug that syrup as fast as you can :)

I failed the 1 hour by 30, the 3 hour by 70..ended up after a strict diet for 2 weeks and no better, taking insulin all of pregnancy. he was a whopping 7lbs 7 oz at 6.5 weeks premature still..off the insuilin once he was born, but developed type 2 and back on insulin 10 years later, now been on for 6 years... good luck to you!!

Hugs! I failed mine too. Not sure by how much, but they said it was borderline. So there I sat at the hospital for 3 hours bored out of my mind. I didn't want to come and go so I just brought a book. And there was a book sale going on in the lobby so I did that and wondered around. LOL. Then passed with flying colors. Grr. :shrug7: Oh well. I don't know what I would have done if they told me I couldn't eat mass quantities of fruit. That's all I craved.

I failed my 1 hour as well....and only by a few points too!! LOL....might have been that breakfast I ate before going? LOL.......Passed the 3 hour with no problem!! Good luck
