Well, it is hard to be good all the time, isn't it? I have issues with it, too. But, for two days in a row dh and I have walked two miles. It is so much easier for me to get motivated when the sun is shining and it is a little warmer. YAY for spring walks!

How long does it take for the results of the one hour to come back? I had mine today, and although this is my 3rd child, I can't remember if I got my results the day of or if I had to wait.

But, I would call getting off the meds a very good thing. I guess it could be sort of "in remission" as opposed to preventing or curing. Either way, a healthy diet and exercise will help a lot which is the point I was making :).
Once you have Diabetes, you have diabetes period. Getting off insulin and not having the disease are two totally different things. All you suggest is better control.

I do not want the GD suffers here to think that they can reverse the disease if it hits post-birth. The risk to go into full blown type 2 is high within the first ten years.

I failed mine with my son, by like 10 pts, I should have fasted before like I did with DD. The 3 hour SUCKS O find it completely wrong to starve a pregnant woman for more than 17 hours it seriously made me sick and shaky for 2 days after and my son didn't move for nearly 18 hours. I think we both suffered from low blood sugar after that. Thank goodness I never will do that again. I get the conern, but the tests are horrible torture fests for me.
Happy momma to a crazy little man(9/09)loving my bundle of energy(9/06)and our proud papa(my love since 94).

I had my 1hr. today and got my results the same day. Unfortunately I failed miserably. By 30 points. So Monday I have the 3 hour. Boo. Hopefully all will be well.

Phew I passed. No problem. Don't know what the hang up was the first time around. Everyone thinks it was because they didn't have me fast. I am just glad we are in the clear.
