Re: Medela Breast Pump question
Hospital grade pumps have various methods of making sure the milk does not get into the pump itself. It varies from pump to pump how this is done. Soem pumps have filters, others have a different method, but they all have it. Personal pumps do not. And I cannot tell you how many times I have had a mom use a used pump and her milk supply has suffered from it. Some moms have tons of milk and an old used up pump will work okay for them. But if you're not one of those moms, using a pump that was used for three kids can totally compromise your milk supply.
Also, there have lactation consultants that have opened up old Pump In Styles and have found mold growing in the motor and bacteria have been cultured out and it's your baby's food - don't risk it! One of my staff says it's like using someone else's toothbrush.

Re: Medela Breast Pump question
I had a Medela Lactina I rented from a pharmacy (it is a hospital grade one) and each person ahd to buy their own kit for it. The kit essentially was a manual pump you pulled on an arm like part which created the suction. The Lactina just pulled the arm like part for you. I know OP asked about PISA- but I am serious that Lactina was aweome! http://www.yourlactationstation.com/...breastpump.jpg
