Your dd could certainly move into a toddler bed at her age, but I think you should borrow another crib for the baby. If your dd happily stays in a crib, why rock that with a baby around. You would be able to put both of them in cribs, know that they are safe and possibly be able to get one thing done before one of them cries. My ds had to be taken out of his crib at 20 months because someone (dd) taught him how to flip in and out. But, my plan was to keep in there as long as I could.

We purchased a toddler bed last night.

We showed it to her online and she was super excited. We are going to set it up in her room, but keep the crib in there too. We will try her in the bed and if she has a hissy, we will put her back in the crib.

Hopefully, she'll be wonderful. We had no problems transitioning her from the bassinett to her crib, so hopefully this will go smoothly too.....

good luck on the transition! we are on day 6 of the conversion from crib to toddler bed with my 2.5 yr old. so far so good. i don't think she has realized that she can pretty much get out when she wants. when she has woken up from naps and in the morning she still just lays there and then calls for us or my sister (she watches her during the day). i hope the transition is as easy for you.
