| | Re: Infant Growth Charts The nice thing about that top one is that it is a more up to date weight chart (2000). My pediatrician said that the weight charts many drs use is based on 1000 formula-fed infants in Denver in 1968. (He may be exaggerating, but not by much.) This one is based on both formula AND breastfed infants.

| | Re: Infant Growth Charts Thanks for the info. We have been to the pedi's office and she seems to be doing okay. I would just like to check more often than those visits. She is breastfed and I thought she had gained quite a bit of weight in the first month. |

| | Re: Infant Growth Charts Ladies, just remember that even if your baby is in the 25th percentile as long as they are maintaining a reasonable curve, they're ok. I've got 6 kids and they're skinny and short LOL I've got one or two that are hardly on the chart at all, but the Dr agrees that as long as their maintaining their curve, it's fine.
MrsPinecone, you are right. Those charts are SO outdated. |

So, even more precise! Our LLL has them on hand to give to moms for free! |

| | Re: Infant Growth Charts Thanks for the links to the charts.
My DD was in the 30-35th percentile her entire first year, made her way to the 50th in both at 18 months, and now, after her 2 year appt. on Friday, she is still around the 50s in weight but has jumped to the 75-80th in height!! My DH is about 6'3", and everyone in his family is tall (he has a female cousin who is 6'2"!), so it looks like she got her daddy's height!

| | Re: Infant Growth Charts Thanks for this great charting tool. As a mom to a baby who was both a preemie (6 wks early) and also has a heart condition (controlled), it is wonderful to put his stats on there and see how he has climbed his way onto the charts and is now actually in the color portions of the chart (below them when he was born and for the first couple of months!).
PS..I know that as a preemie and heart patient, his growth may be affected and probably isn't considered comparable to other babies...but the good news is that right now it doesn't seem to be affected and he is chugging along on the chart! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
