Thinking of getting an IUD.. any thoughts? UPDATE

I have had the Mirena for 6 years now. Both insertions were not bad with a little bit of cramping after the insertions and a little discomfort during the insertion. When I had the first one removed I didn't feel a thing. Have not had a period since the month after I had the first one inserted. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. I also have friends who have had it and had it removed in order to get pregnant and they had no problems with getting pregnant.

I just wanted to give an update.

I went ahead and got the Mirena IUD.

LOVE IT!!

I did think it was painful going in, and I had cramps to the point I was in tears for a few hours after wards.. but its been 2 weeks now and its sooooo awesome to not have to worry about anything!

My advice... MIRENA FOR EVERYONE!

Glad to hear that it worked out! My husband had a vasectomy after our 4th child and I am also happy to be worry free.
