Default Baby Stockpile

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and would like to start a stockpile now so that my bank account won't be drained later! I have some coupon experience, and am most familiar with the Walgreen's system, but am interested in shopping elsewhere, too. How should I start if I'm looking for only baby items? Is there a certain store that has the most/best deals on diapers and wipes and baby items? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks so much in advance!

cvs will have huggies on sale the week of 11/22. spend 20 get 5 ECB, usually they put the huggies jumbos on sale $10 each when they run them on ECB special. so that would effectively make the jumbos 7.50 each after ecb, use coupons to make them cheaper.

If you have a Food Lion they have the travel packs of Home 360(store brand) wipes 1.6x(dont remember exactly) and they normally have a FLIP(Food lion IP) for 1.50 off Home 360 diapers or wipes. this makes the pack of wipes less than .20 for 40 something wipes. thats a good deal. I always pick up a pack of them when I go to FL as long as they have the FLIP(you can print once per computer, have everyone you know print them up for you.)

clothes - secondhand is great! check yard/garage sales, goodwill, etc or ask people you know that have babies but be mindful of buying the correct season/size.

I live in Michigan. CVS has a baby program where if you buy $100 in diapers/wipes, you get a $10 ECB.

I utilize CVS most often as well for baby stockpiling. I build up my ECB's with other deals that are free or moneymakers with coupons and then I use my ECB's for diapers/wipes/etc. I've gotten a lot of CVS CRT coupons for $2/1 Huggies wipes...combined with a 50c/1 mfr coupon thats only 99c for a large box.

I agree with a pp about everything else (clothes, toys, etc.) used is great! Most used clothes are in just as good of shape as brand new since most babies wear an outfit only a few times before growing out of it.

I'm also saving up gift cards to lower the cost on big items like a crib, etc.

Our HyVee has a program where you spend $150 in baby items, you get $10 giftcard for the store. They often have deals where you buy 2 boxes of diapers (on sale at a good price esp. after coupons), you get $5 store giftcard.

I also use WalMart a lot, they have good prices for the diapers we use (Huggies Pure & Natural) esp. with my pile of $3 coupons on them. Their wipe prices are the lowest regular price in our area at $2.37 a tub.

I love Walgreens, but our Wags stockpile of diapers hasn't diminished much. They don't hold much on DS and they run small. Maybe they will work better on the next baby. Either way, when they have BOGO sales at $6 or so a pack, you CAN NOT beat that - esp. if you have RRs to use up!

I don't know if you have a Winn Dixie and/or Publix, but they both have a baby club with great coupons. If you time it just right, you can get decent deals on the boxes of diapers at one or the other.

Recently, WD had a special thing where if you got the Luvs boxed diapers for 17.99 each (2 at a time), then you got an 150 bonus baby club points (when you get 200, you get a free 10.00 worth of groceries). Simultaneously, they had a P&G promotion where you saved 5.00 off of the rest of your items when you spent 35.00 on P&G. So I got 55.00 worth of stuff, used my 10.00/50.00 purchase, saved 10.00 off because the 150 points gave me my 200+, and saved the 5.00 instantly, and I had a 5.00/1 Luv's coupon for signing up on the site, a 1.00/1 Luv's from the paper, and other coupons for my other stuff. It was kind of fun. I spent about what I would have on just one box of diapers and got the two boxes and about 20.00 worth of groceries to boot. They do promotions like this quite often, too. And every dollar spent on a baby item = 1 point.

I'm not store loyal- i bounce between rite aid, cvs, wags, grocery stores, target... i keep about 15$ rolling at cvs. we don't mind the free health/beauty products we get awaiting the next diaper deal.

read the post on this board about stockpiling diapers- it will help you figure out how many you may need and what is a "good" price. We've averaged around 7 cents per diaper not spending more than .11/ea. Wipes avg a penny or less...

write/email companies to get high value coupons- those help!

consignment sales are great for clothing/books/toys. they usually have 50% off on the last day.
