I agree with you.

My son is now on a $1000 a month formula...and I pick it up at the pharmacy...I call them ahead let them know what I need...take my vouchers there and pick it up that way. Some other states WIC programs have you pick up the specialized formula at there office or have a Home Health Company deliver it to your home. I can promise they do one of the those...or similar...they just don't openly tell people. But say you have a baby born with PKU....WIC is not going to make them have similac...since that formula would kill the baby with PKU.

It provides one-on-one breastfeeding instruction and support including breast pumps in special situations. It provides standard infant formula as well as expensive nonstandard formulas prescribed by physicians.

(copyrighted in 2001, so at least for 8 years they've been able to get "NON STANDARD" formula.

and FYI: sometimes shelf stable milk is better to have. It can taste just fine once it's nice and cold, and I live in FL where I can get the cold milk, but I prefer the shelf stable. At least that way, if a hurricane hits, I know we'll have-at the very least-cereal and milk for a while. : )
