Kids Daycare costs

Wondering if I could get some opinions from my frugal yet realistic HCW friends.......

I'd love to get input as to what you would expect to pay / be willing to pay in the following two scenarios:

Infant --- 10 a.m. to midnight?

Infant --- 10 a.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Tuesday?

either way (12 hour or 24 hour shift) it would be one or two days per week with breaks in between the days.

Thanks so much for your help... I'll send reps!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think you could expect to pay a premium for overnight care for an infant. I have personally never heard of a daycare that operates overnight. IMO, your best bet would be to ask a family member, if you have family local to you, for such care of an infant.
Best of luck.

Wow...I can't imagine anyone who would want you to pick up your child at midnight or would want to keep someone else's infant overnight.

I am thinking you need to search out a family member or live-in nanny.

I'm thinking about $25 per 12 hour shift. If you would be doing this to help out someone who is struggling and the baby is easy to care for maybe less. If the baby is super high-maintenance-up-every-hour-you're-never-gonna-sleep maybe more.

First of all, yep, there are people who need 3rd shift care, even for infants.

Missmits, do you, or the person who is providing the care already offer childcare? Because if you do, I would stick to whatever you, or who you are asking for normally charges for infants. The hours that you are looking at are in total that of a person's work week - only they scrunched it up into 2 days instead of 5.

Around here, (milwaukee) you are looking at between $3.00 - $4.00 for daycare in the providers home for ages around 18 months to school age. I know that people will charge a premium for infants and late hours, sometimes like .50 per hour more and for goodness sake make sure that the parents provide the food and diapers because that will eat into what you have been paid. I personally do not accept infants, so that is all I know just from talking with people about daycare. HTH in some way.

here daycare's get about $3 a hour for a infant so the $25 for 12 hours seems about right to me......but if its a in home daycare or just a babysitter you could look to pay a little less than that for they dont have to pay the help for they are the help. so for them I would say maybe $17 for 12 hours.

Not that I would want to pay this amount but we have to have someone to watch our little ones and thats about the going rate...

Last summer I watched a 6 month old from about 3 p.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday. It was the first time he had ever been away from his mother for an extended period of time (she's a SAHM) so he was fussy and did not sleep through the night. I got paid $40.

thanks so much for the responses.
The baby is a friend's niece. I want to give a fair price to the parents. I want to give them a price that doesn't break them but at the same time it is premium care!

Wow, $25 for 12 hours?? $3 an hour??? Can I bring my kids to your daycare? PLEASE? Around here, the minimum I've seen is about minimum wage, which is $7.25/hr.
