Absolutely agree. I only really care bout the ones that I actually paid money for. Contrary to what most people might think, I didn't get in on all the great deals back then since I was on my break from all of this at the time. :)

Default Re: Confirm Clearly Pregnancy Test recall

Sorry I didn't realize this was already posted. At least they did recall them and are giving refunds, although if you get a false positive and go by that than a refund is not really much of a consolation. :(

Anyway, I had one starter kit and one refill as well, so I just got the refund for those, but it is very conceivable that people will have more than one of each. The friend that warned me about the recall had one starter kit and two refill packs and is getting her money back. Although, she's not a couponer, she paid full price for these tests. She's just a test-a-holic. LOL

I got the refund for the Confirm Clearly tests today. That's just over a week from when I called. Zoom fast.

The check didn't say anything about the recall or Confirm Clearly. It just has the company's name on it - SSL Americas, Inc. It took me a few minutes to figure out for what the check was.

I had the opposite problem with the Dollar Tree pregnancy tests. I was about 4 days late getting my period and I bought several tests from the Dollar Tree. I think I took 5 or 6 total and they were all negative. I went and bought an EPT 2 pack test and they were both positive. Went to the Dr and sure enough I'm pregnant! I don't recommend the dollar store tests at all.

Congrats! Same thing happened with me when I was pregnant with my first son. I won't buy a dollar store test again...I took 3 tests...all negative. The EPT test I took was positive...I have the little boy to prove it ;-)

Interesting... I took Dollar Tree tests when we were TTC and they were always accurate for me. No positives until my little girl was really on her way, and then an early (but clear) positive!

I used the dollar tree OPK's and HPT's, both with great results. I only got one positive OPK and then I had a positive HPT, 3 weeks and 1 day later. DS was born 39 weeks and 6 days after I had the positive OPK. I recomend them to everyone.

I won't use any brand but EPT. I've had too many strange things happen with the others, including a false positive with an equate brand test. Now I just fork over the extra $$ for the EPT and feel better about it. I usually have low hcg in the beginning though making some tests hard to read. My doctor doesn't use tests but rather does a blood test so after I get my ++ EPT I just go to him to confirm.

Okay, I gotta ask, how many kids do you have? Sounds like you take pregnancy tests often... (I am not trying to be mean, don't read it that way! I am just really curious!)

ETA: I just read your post in another thread- your kids are exactly the same ages as mine! (Only two right now, in case anyone else is curious, too!)
