PREGGO Suggestions on a GOOD double stroller???

I'm looking for a decent double stroller, with matching infant seat... I have been searching and searching, reading reviews... I can't afford a $400+ set though. If anyone has had one they could recommend, I would appreciate it.

I never ended up getting it, but I really wanted a Graco QuattroDuo. We have a Graco Quattro and it has been through the wars for 5+ years now. The Duo takes a Snug Ride carrier too. We never ended up with one since my oldest was closer to 2 1/2 when the second was born and wasn't so much in the stroller as your 18 month old would be.

The Graco DuoGlider is lighter and about $130 at Target, the DuoQuattro is about $250. I'd check on Craigslist and Freecycle too though. Lots of people get double strollers then don't end up using them very much.

I had a big Graco tandem that I used w/two of the carriers. It was sturdy, but wouldn't fit in the trunk of my neon and took up the whole front seat of that car. It fit much easier in the van, but was definitely heavy.

Also had a double umbrella that used when the twins were older, I think by Duracraft, but don't hold me to that.

Check out some of the jogging doubles on line, then go to Craigslist or Ebay and look for the one you want. They tend to be lighter, but pretty sturdy.

This is the one I'm leaning towards.... There's a matching carseat too.
Graco DuoGlider™ LX Stroller - High Street

I know I'll be buying new, I'll be using it enough that I want new, and like I said, the matching carseat.... I'm excited to get new anyway!!

I've not heard many good things about the DuoGlider. People say it drives like a tank.

I borrowed a jeep double stroller - As far as front/back strollers go, I just don't like them. I do think there is a sit n stand convertible out now that I *might* be interested in - my main complaint with doubles is that the seats don't recline. Even if the back reclines, it's not usually flat - so my tummy sleepers would never sleep in a double.

We *did* buy a double jogger which is AWESOME! The front/back doubles are hard to maneuver and feel like they weith a ton. The double jogger is much easier to turn & push up hills etc. I'd consider where you think you'll be using it - we tend to use our double a lot more at the zoo, parks, etc. so the jogger gets a lot of use. If you think you can make due with a single for shopping/indoor use, I'd go with a double jogger. As long as you're not using it for jogging you can put a newborn in it.

You might consider just using your existing stroller for your 18 month old and getting a sling for the new little one (especially at first).

I found it much easier to carry DS2 in a sling and just hold DS1 hand for most outings the first summer I had multiple children (especially for the grocery store or a quick trip to the park).

That being said DS1 was not much of a stroller rider as soon as he could walk and would spend most of his time trying to escape. I'm not a big fan of infant car seats (they just seem like such a PITA to get installed correctly) and switch to a rear facing convertable seat very early for DS2.

We just bought ours at Target. It was around $170. I forget what brand it is, it's brown--and the Target house brand. For the new little guy, we are able to use the baby seat that came with our other travel system.

The Duo Quattro is an absolute Cadillac and a joy to own.. I can never say enough good about it!!!!

Check Craigslist...I see them for $100-$150 all the time barely used! Buy the car seat new though

I had the Graco Duo Glider for the twins and liked it. It was mid range in price fit two infant car seats and worked for our needs. It is big and takes up a lot of space in your trunk (I had a mini van). I also was not a heavy stroller user and in fact I still have our stroller and use it from time to time even though the twins are 4, like if we are going somewhere with a lot of walking. I also have a side by side jogging stroller that I use much more often now for walking trips from home to the park or store. The kids just think it is more fun to sit side by side and they don't fight about who is sitting up front.
