Default Best Car seat for Long Car Rides??

Hi! My daughter will be 1 year old in four weeks. She is now at the weight requirement for a convertible car seat. I've been reading reviews for weeks on car seats. I thought we were going to buy a Graco Nautilus until two days ago when I read that they weren't the most comfortable for long car rides... i.e. sleeping. We make 8hr car rides to FL every other month to visit family, so I need something that my daugher will be most comfortable in. What do you guys think? I know the Britax are highly recommended and they are on my consideration list, but I was looking for others to compare. Thanks for any help!

We have 3 Evenflo Triumphs. Rated as highly as the Britax for half the money.

We went from the Snug Ride to the Comfort Sport (both by Graco) to the Britax (only because it was the only one we could get at the time that went up big enough). I love the Graco stuff. I'd go with the Comfort Sport at that age. It should last you up to 40lbs which for a normal child is a very long time (my kids are big since dh is 6'3").

We have had Graco everything thus far (highchair, play yard, snugride) and I have been very happy with all of it. That's why I was leaning towards the Nautilus. My daughter is 22lbs now and tall. My husband is 6 ft and I'm 5'8"...so she's going to be taller. I would like to find something with a larger weight range and height range. How does the Evenflo measure up range-wise? Thanks for all help!

I love my evenflo. DS#1 was still in the convertible one in the truck at 3 1/2 when I had to switch DS#2 into it. When I take my 4yo neice with me she still rides in it and the kids all seem to be very cozy in it and the sides come out pretty far so it has lots of room to rest their heads and it reclines in I think 5 different positions. Even forward facing you have I think 2 options for recline.

The britax are nice care seats but honestly they are way to overpriced. They aren't as comfortable as they look in person. I went around pinching fabric to see how padded all the carseats were. i wanted to get the britax boulvard i think idk but it was like 360 dollars yikes. I ended up getting the first years convertible seat on the target website when they were having a free shipping deals. (couldn't find it in town) and it was 180.00. I was way more padded and comfortable then the other brands like graco/evenflo etc. My son loves his car seat. Its ( The first years true fit convertible car seat it is 179.99 at target online) . The reviews that are low on the site are silly. its not hard to install at all and it never pinched my son in the crotch. That happens when your not adjusting it properly.

We have the Graco Nautilus and DD seems very comfy. However, she is 3 now. We did not get it at one as we rear faced as long as possible since that is the safest thing to do.

britax roundabout all the way. Have 2 (one for each car), been threw 2 boys over the course of 7 years. LOVE EM!!!! I know there are also some new models out there, specifically one that goes up to 65lbs. If space is not an issue (because I think that one is large) I'd opt for that - keeping them in a car seat rather than a booster longer has got to be safer in my mind.

The Graco Nautilus is forward facing ONLY. The recommendation is that you keep them rear facing until the age of 2, so the Nautilus isn't a good option.

The Evenflo goes to 35 lbs rear facing and 50 forward.
