I ended up getting the first years convertible seat on the target website when they were having a free shipping deals. (couldn't find it in town) and it was 180.00. I was way more padded and comfortable then the other brands like graco/evenflo etc. My son loves his car seat. Its ( The first years true fit convertible car seat it is 179.99 at target online) . The reviews that are low on the site are silly. its not hard to install at all and it never pinched my son in the crotch. That happens when your not adjusting it properly.
Sorry to go off topic but can I just be a proud Momma and say if you see the True Fit in stores, that is my DS in the advertisement. Can also view it here (hopefully it comes across, he is the third picture in) Learning Curve Shop: The official online store for Learning Curve, The First Years, Lamaze Infant Development System, Thomas Wooden Railway, Take Along Toys, Caring Corners Talking Interactive Doll House, SuperWHY, Take & Toss, Bob the Builder toys, this link brings you to the direct picture http://content.learningcurve.com/wps...if?MOD=AJPERES
thanks for letting me brag!

We fell in love with the true fit by the first years, tons of padding! It's even reversible, cooler side for summer, warmer for winter. Padding can be added or removed for comfort. Perfect for long car rides. Easy to install too, no strap rethreading, cover comes off to wash without having to unattach anything! I believe it's 35 rear facing, 65 front. DS hated the car seat until we got this one!!! He's a big guy too and he's got tons of room in this seat.

My DD who is almost 3 loves her Nautilus. It is a great seat, I love that it has a cup holder and that it will fit her for years.

I find it to be a great seat for a good price. We also have Fisher Price Safe Voyage which are modeled after a Britax marathon(marathon like seat, with a different cover). That was her seat from 9 months until we got the Nautilus this spring. The FP is our back-up seat. I like both. Only the FP Safe Voyage are no longer made, too bad-it's a nice seat for a decent price.

I have to agree with this one. We have had this car seat for 3 years and LOVE it. It is shaped where the sides kind of come out a bit more than someother seats so the kids can rest their heads easily. But the absolute best thing about this seat in my opinion is the way it adjusts. The straps are loosened and tightened by a very simple knob on the front. This is especially nice during the fall/winter because we live in FL and we might leave the house in coats and jackets in the morning and be down to t-shirts by the afternoon. It's nice to be able to easily loosen/tighten straps so you know that they are always fitting properly. Here's a pic- you can see how the sides kind of extend out for more head support.

You can find REALLY good sales on the britax. I got my blvd for around 180 at bru with coupons and discounts and I love it. My ds likes it also

EmmasMom830 will become famous soon enough
Default Re: Best Car seat for Long Car Rides??

I know I am late to this thread, but I have to add... albeebaby.com has great prices on car seats, and free shipping. There is a Britax Boulevard for $189.99 right now. (Side note: They ship faster and have better customer service than babyage.)

Personally I am a Britax mom also... My daughter is 3 and has 3 Decathlons (one for each car.) I love them... the install is great and they don't budge! They also work well on air planes (I use a bungee cord to keep it on the back of the stroller at the airport.) HTH
