Default Re: When is your kids nap and bed time?

I have a 7 year old who pretends to sleep on the weekends for naptime...comes out when his 3 year old brother falls asleep 12:30 to 1pm everyday and bedtime is almost always at 8pm. It will be 9pm in summer. Hey we need our adult / alone time too and the only time us parents get that is when the children are asleep!

In our house we have 3 kids 4, 3, and 1 1/2. They all get up between 6:30 - 7:00 am. The nap is 12:30. This is quite time for my 4 year old. 7:00 is always turn down the lights and settle down time and 8:00 is bed time. We make sure they go to bed at exactly 8 every night. I think that is why they love gma's house so much, there is no bed time there. lol

Default Re: When is your kids nap and bed time?

My 3 year old gets a nap "after lunch" which might mean about noon or sometimes is as late as 1:30 or 2 if there are things going on. These days she sleeps about 2 hours most days.

On weekends, my 5 year old also gets the same nap time and 80% or more of the time falls asleep immediately and generally goes for about an hour and a half.

Bedtime is 7pm. The reason they have an early bedtime is that no matter what time I put them to bed (even as late as 9:30 or 10 if we've been out), the older one wakes up between 5:30 and 6am. The younger one probably would sleep through until 7am, but usually gets woken up in the older one's roaming around. Most days both are out like a light by 7:30 or 8 at the latest.

I say if your nap and bedtime schedule works for you, then that's the right one.

I am so jealous! NONE of my 3 kids have ever been nappers.

DS #1 (now 8) and DD (now 4) both stopped around 12 months. Seriously.
DS#2 (almost 7) stopped at about 18 months.

Bed time for all 3 is 8:30 during the school week, 10 on weekends, vacations and summer. All get up at 6:45 am.

I find this so interesting--- I wake them up at 6:45 every weekday AM. They groan and moan and argue for 5 more minutes.
On the weekends--- They are bouncing off the walls at 6:30am!

DD1 (age 7) - try to get her in bed by 8:30, 9:30 at the latest. She'll lay there and read lots of nights and then fall asleep.

DS (age 2) - trying to get him on a schedule now that I am not working anymore, he goes down about 8/8:30 unless DH comes home from work around that time, then that goes out the window!

DD2 - no schedule, she's a month old!

DS naps during the day after lunch - today he went down at 11:45 for his nap and can sleep as little as 1 hour, or as much as 3!

My daughter is 11 months. She has never adjusted to any schedule I tried to enforce. But she recently developed one of her own that works GREAT for us and is pretty reliable.

She goes to bed between 10-11pm (great for me-I stay up later)
My husband wakes her at 6-6:30 for a bottle before he goes to work.
She passes right back out (if she even wakes up when he feeds her)
She sleeps until 9:30-10:30am (I'm in heaven- not a morning person)
She eats lunch anywhere from 12-1:30- she lets me know when
Then she naps around 2-3 for about 1 1/2 -3 hours.

Default Re: When is your kids nap and bed time?

Glad to see some late nighters, my dh is always on to me about my lateness I rarely go to bed before 2am. I got up at 5am when my first 4 were little and they were usually up around 8am but now they're all up at 7am or earlier for school. They still go to bed rather late around 11, bedtime is 10pm, and sometimes nap in the afternoon. LOL (my 15 & 13 yr olds).

So after living totally exhausted for about 7 years I gave into my lateness, now I go to bed 2am and wake 9-10am, so my youngest 2 sleep in with me. My little one is 6mths & still takes 3 naps a day, around 12, around 3 around 5-6 and goes to bed at 10. 4yr dd goes to bed w. the rest of the girls.

Nap time? When they finally run out of energy, if ever!
Bed time? My 12 yr old and 10 yr old 10 on school nights. They get up at 7. The 3.5 yr old will maybe pass out finally around midnight and is back up running at 7-8. The 2 yr old goes to sleep around 9:30-10. She gets up between 8-9.
Summer time we have no bed time!!! We run and play til we can't no more. It's fun!
Sounds just like my house, have 2 daughters, 9 and 12, and they both go to bed at 9 on school nights, (well that's their bedtime) they actually go to bed at about 10, and on weekends, and summer, pretty much no bedtime.

Wakes up between 9 and 10am
Nap from noonish till about 2:30pm
Takes a 'break' in his crib around 4:30 has a sippy of water and chats with his stuffed Elmo for about an hour while mommy makes dinner. He will sometimes nap for an hour or two here if he's had a busy day with physical therapy or playdates.
