XRays and Pregnant

I just found out i am pregnant with my 1st! I am so excited but terrified due to the fact that i was at the dentist last week and had an xray and they asked if i was pregnant i said no I didnt find out until this week that i was indeed pregnant. I am soo worried I dont know what to do. Has this happened to anyone? Should I be concerned?

I went to the dentist with my DD and she had xrays done. they put her on my lap and did them. I was pregnant. They said that they do digitals which is what most dentists use and they wont hurt the fetus. Thats what they told me and my baby is currently throwing a tantrum right now. Shes fine, happy (most of the time), and healthy.

Dont worry about that at all. Dentist use very little radiation when x-raying your teeth. Did they lay the shield over top of you?

Being an X-ray tech myself and worked till I was 4 months pregnant in the Xray Dept. My son was just fine when he was born.

Me to I'm an xray tech I take mammograms ! I worked up to the day before my kids where born and they are both fine of course I was behind a lead wall :)

The xrays are fine they are very focused to the teeth and are low in dose they should have put a lead apron on your lap even if you are not pregant!

Thanks for the responses I am feeling a little less relieved. Well I stood up for the xray and bit down on that thing but the lead shield was drped over my back i held it on the top of my shoulder. I thought that was unusual...should it have been draped in front of me? Thanks so much!!!

I was admitted into the hospital while pregnant with DD and had multiple tests done included radiation and she is as healthy as they come! I've had dental x-rays done while pregnant too with little concern. I wouldn't worry about it!
