I'm loving these stories! My kids are also couponers. My DS-3 asked me for something at the grocery store the other day. I told him he would have to wait until it went on sale and/or I had a coupon. He told me "Yes, coupon. Right there!" and pointed to my coupons. Then I had to try to explain that yes, mama has coupons-- but not for that! My DS-16 (but with many special needs) pulled peelies from soda at Wal-Mart the other day. I went on ahead of him and when he caught up to me he had peelies pasted up and down both arms. The sticky was still on them.
They insist on doing their own purchaces with their own coupons and then on keeping whatever it was I was trying to get multiples of. I love it!

you know your a hard core couponer when...

You're nearly 3 year old prefers to build toilet paper castles rather than play with blocks...

After a great shopping trip you come home to snap a picture of the loot and your ds demands to also take pictures, which result in a whole lotta pics of close ups of cereal boxes and mommy's butt, lol, that need to be deleted...

You come home from a shopping trip and show off your loot to your dh and ask him "guess how much I paid for this item" and your ds blurts out "2 cents" or even better "FREE"

ds is at the store with you and wants something asks, "is this on sale?"

When my youngest was 6, we were choosing books at the library, and she asked if I had any coupons for the books she wanted to borrow.

The other week DD (6) and Mamma (great grandma) were playing grocery store. Mamma was the cashier. She told DD her total was $3 and she hands her a coupon. Mamma says ok your total is $2. DD got a mad look on her face. Mamma told her it was a $1 Q. DD says not-unh! That's not how my Mommie does it! It is suppose to be free!

they like to collect blinkies and then give them to the cashier. if i get a funny look, i just tell them they are trying to help me :) usually they are super great and will take them and put them by their register to "scan" to make my girls happy.
my 4yr. old DD is like this.. she will laugh every time a new one comes out.. and if we are walking away she will run back to get it.. she cracks me up with this stuff.. then when we get to the register she hands over the coupons to the cashier who looks at me then sticks them in a bag of my groceries. or she will hand them to me when we are walking away.

HAHAHA....My 3yr old DS does this too! Except he is ok with expired coupons, I actually have to be careful when I'm pulling them out because he'll try to take the good ones to throw away also, as it's his "job".

Every time we go to the post office I use the machine because the lines are WAY too long, when my reciept pops out he yells "mommy get your coupon". Maybe he thinks it's like a blinkie machine!

he still doesn't get WHY we use coupons, he just recognizes them and knows they're "important". I've been trying to teach him with McDonalds Treat Coupons.

And if he finds a stray coupon in the house he'll bring it to me. I have to take my expireds to the dumpster because if I put them in the trash can his eyes get real big and he tries to take them back out and give them to me!

Oh my gosh! Reading these posts has made me laugh so hard.
I have a 1st. grader who is asking me.. "mommy since that binder is too small can I use it for a coupon binder"

I ask my son... "do you want to go to Walgreens or Pick-n-Save".. aww... mommy lets to Walgreens it is going to be a lot faster. I realized today he can be a doll in the store as long as I take him out before noon. He LOVES to pull blinkies and peelies .. AND if it is a REALLY good one I'll let him pull a few... while I look at something I know I probably won't buy. But today, we meet my MIL at a WAG in town and I'm wating for a cashier at the beauty counter and she takes my son outside. I get to the car and she slips something in my pocket. Thought you could use these.. LMAO... She lifted a CHUNK (probably the remainder) of a TP ... lmao inside. Expires in two days and is $1/2 amp WITH a walgreens logo. .

Guess someone must like the free Breeze test strips....
Gotta love family!
