What's the going rate from the Tooth Fairy?

The tooth fairy will be making the rounds to our house tonight, and I'm just wondering what the going rate is these days?

You know, so I won't be surprised by what the Tooth Fairy leaves under ds's pillow.

We just started this since my eldest is 6. But we've been doing $1 and a tiny toy or candy.

The tooth fairy leaves a $1 and change here, weird amounts to make them giggle and remember.

One time DD got a gold $1 coin, another a $2 bill when the fairy forgot and came a day late.

I don't know what the going rate is, but in our house it will be $5 for the first tooth, 1.00 for each subsequent tooth, and $5 for the last one.

or from the Dollar tree.

Grammy gives $5 a tooth till the last then it is a twenty, and they are in their teens!

Around here, for the girls, the tooth fairy left a "tooth fairy barbie" that has a box/pouch to put future lost teeth in. She also left $5 and a note (aka - keepsake for the baby book). When our ds loses his first, there will prob. be a "tooth fairy truck" or something like that w/a note & a $5.

So far the oldest has lost 8 teeth and after the first, she has gotten weird amounts too. Like one tooth she got a gold $1 coin, a $2 bill, 100 pennies, etc. So far the middle child has only lost the first tooth and that was just last wk.

Also, the oldest lost 2 teeth in 1 day at the same time so she got a $5 bill for those since it was 2 at once. We thought that was "special".

I LOVE the whole tooth fairy thing!!! LOL
