She stuck Chocolate chips up her nose!

Wow, this is one of those days! My MIL was watching my daughter while me and my dh were working in our office. She comes into our office with my daughter screaming and says that my dd stuck chocolate chips up her nose. She said she was watching her and gave her a couple to eat. She turned her back and then realized she stuck them up her nose. My MIL is panicking of course and my dd has chocolate all over her face at first I thought it was blood. I grab her take her upstairs determined to get them out. Wrong! She wouldn't let me near her nose. I am panicking, my dh is oblivious not doing anything. I scream at him that I can use his help. My dd is screaming her lungs out won't let me near her nose. Talk about chaos! I clean her face off and try to let her let me use a q-tip, nope! Some of it melted and we cleaned it but I think there is a little more in there. My dh is trying to get her to sleep because he thinks he'll be able to get the rest while she sleeps. Her breathing is fine just sounds like she has a little stuffy nose. The main thing was I needed to calm her down. She just turned 2 and I kept telling her not to put anything in her nose, but I have no idea if she got it or not. I think I am lucky that it's chocolate because her body heat will melt it out. My dh put corn in his nose when he was little and I put tape in mine so I guess we were doomed. I've caught her once trying to put cotton from a cotton ball in there. I sure hope she's learned her lesson on this one, but I'm going to be extra cautious.

No advice, as I've never had to deal with foreign objects in the nose yet, but I have 3 toddlers, so I still feel for ya...some days are just like that!

I'm sure she'll be fine...I'm sure much worse things have been stuffed inside noses before. The worst part is, what a waste of perfectly good chocolate!

My middle niece was a fan of sticking baby carrots in her nose. Ear, nose and throat are all connected. So the chocolate is going to melt and drip down the back of her throat. Try having her blow her nose and tip her head forward while doing so kind of like for a bloody nose (so she doesn't block the airway).

All I can say is Pea's are the hardest to get out. They squish when you try and pull them out.

This is my first "major catastrophe". Okay, it's not that big of a deal, but I felt like it was at first and had to keep calming myself down. She was so tired from all the screaming and crying that she went into her bed and laid down. It is hard for me to get her to lay down so that was a surprise. Then she tried to explain to me what she had done. She doesn't talk clearly yet so this made it even harder, but looking back it was funny. Something to tell her when she's younger.

I'm just so drained, but I got tons of work I need to do before the morning. I just keep saying at least it was chocolate because chocolate melts. She had chocolate running all down her nose. Joys of motherhood!

I am sorry you are going through this. My nephew when he was little had 2 pennies shoved up his nose. They had to have surgery to remove them. I am glad it wasn't that bad for you. I hope she learns her lesson.

I stuck crayons up my nose and my grandma had to use tweezers to get them out! Ouch. Good luck.

This is what I have to look forward to?? Oh boy!! Lol

No idea if I did anything like that, but I do know that when my cousin was younger she stuck jelly beans and then another time.....RED HOTS up her nose!! Yeah, they burn there too!!

If this is your first "major" catastrophe, count yourself lucky. It wouldn't even register on my radar.

i can't even count how many "mishaps" my 2 younger kids have had..it's no wonder my hair has started to gray and i'm only 29 =(

All I have to say is BE PREPARED! LOL
