DF just came home from an orientation for preschool. He said his baby mama is sending his son to this Catholic preschool, at $1100/yr!!
This just seems nuts. Is that a normal price? I don't see why she wants to send him to a Catholic preschool as she isn't religious and doesn't go to church. There are plenty of other non-religious preschools around here, and probably cheaper too.
My ds#2's preschool is actually at our public Elementary School (preschool charges a tuition, K-5th doesn't). 3 year olds go in the am and 4 year olds go in the pm. DS only goes 3 afternoons a week and we pay $75 a month so $750 for a full school year. If he went 5 afternoons a week it would be $125 a month or $1250 for the full school year.

M DD preschool is $1900 for the school year, two days a week.
Oh man, that's crazy! How in the heck did my parents send all seven of us kids to preschool on one income?
Our preschool is $325/month for a 5 day, 3 hour program for 2 & 3 y/o's. We don't offer 2 or 3 days per week. Preschool for 4 year olds is free thanks to the state Voluntary PreK program.
Loving life with my boys down in central Florida
VOTE FOR ME...OR ELSE!!!
I can't imagine paying for preschool! Preschool in our area is completely free. If I had to pay then they would not go. I would rather have them home with me anyway! Both of my DD's went to our free preschool 4 days a week for 1/2 a day and they loved it.
I spent just short of $300/month for both of my children, combined, to go to preschool. They both went five days a week for one year (4 year old) but only 2 days a week, four hours a day the other years.
My DD went to pre K last year. Free Thank God!
They did ask for a lot of parent help (supplies and hours) but no one minded. Her K teacher acts like she doesn't want me at school. It wasn't like that when I was in school up til 5th Grade they loved having my Mom there!
