Can't of coarse forget the receiving blankets, which there never are enough of, and booties and the little mittens so the baby doesn't scratch himself.
Clear Karo syrup for upset tummy....

My cousin is expecting his first baby, and his girlfriend is young and they don't have a lot of dough. So, I want to put together a tackle box full of essential things that are pain in the butt to buy when you need them.
I am looking for ideas....not the first ones that come to mind but those out of the way things you learn along the line.
The first one that came to mind for me that, I had to buy after a trip to the doctor was a tube of monistat for what I thought was a really tough diaper rash.
I know you all will be good at this!

If it's a boy some petroleum jelly- if they are circumcising- will come in handy. The kind in the easy to dispense tubes are best.
