Does anyone else pregnant with the second (or third, etc) feel like they're carrying MUCH lower this time? This little guy feels like he's going to fall out any moment!
So, I'm only halfway through with this pregnancy, and already my husband is like "When do you want to have another baby?" I was like "Are you serious?? Can we get this one out of the way first?" (I think this is brought on by the fact that he really wants a son.)
I was talking with my friend on Saturday, and she said as soon as her baby is born (she's due around the same time I am), her and her DH are not going to use any bc and just let things happen naturally and possibly have another kid right away. Anyway, I wasn't thinking about doing that, but DH and I were talking, and we thought we would start trying around the time our baby is 9 months old (which would be next May) and go from there.
My thing is- I have a really overbearing sister. She threw a big fit when I told her I was pregnant with this baby b/c she thinks we're not ready and have unrealistic expectations, etc. Plus, she knows that from time to time we have a pretty tight budget since DH isn't working and we live in an expensive area. I told DH that we needed to use more time after the baby is born to build up our savings and make sure we have good health care and make sure my job is stable (which it's stable now, but you know, in this economy...)
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had overbearing family members who said you weren't ready for a baby/another baby, and what you said to them? Obviously, this won't come up for me for another year or more, but it would make me feel better to know I'm not the only one with an unsupportive family (though that makes me sound super selfish, lol).
*Hugs* I'm sorry your sister isn't supportive. We got pregnant right away after DS (he was born in mid April, and I had a BFP by August) and neither of our families were supportive at first, but after we told them in no uncertain terms that this was OUR family and our choices were right for us, they backed off. We still get comments every now and then, but usually a simple "when you pay our bills you can make our decisions" puts an end to it.
Although, I will tell you that back to back pregnancies are REALLY exhausting. When I felt sick/tired/swollen with DS I could come home and relax after work, but now there's no such thing until he's sound asleep. It's all worth it, though!
I'm not pregnant but I am really wanting another baby. :) I was just wondering if there are any ladies who have either had or are planning to have a homebirth or a planned hospital birth with a midwife? I have had 3 c-sections and I am thinking of either a home birth or a hospital birth (if I can find a doc/hospital willing to let me have a trial of labor)
Good luck with your pregnancies ladies and hopefully I will be joining you soon with my updates. :)
I'm 34 weeks pregnant. My family/friends like to make jokes b/c I am so prepared. They asked what we still need for our little one-diapers, wipes, clothes, etc. I said "really not much". I have been stockpiling diapers and wipes and have been done with that for awhile now. We have barely bought any clothes and yet we have sooooo many clothes for the first 6 months it's crazy. I have been working on making and freezing food over the last week so we won't have to worry in the first few weeks what to eat. Also, I will have 1-2 weeks of no pay before my short term disability kicks in so the more food we have prepared the less we have to spend on groceries (not to mention just finding time to go-dh tries to coupon but even with a list and coupons in hand he seems to spend too much money-lol).
Hi everyone! Had dr appt yesterday, and all tests (10 vials worth) were all good! Heard the baby's heartbeat and dr said it sounds good. B/c of my age (34), they are sending me for more blood work and a more in depth ultrasound. Have to speak to my dr again as not knowing my father has me worrying a little of what (if any) genetic issues may run on that side. I have his address, and just have to write a letter to him just to see if he is willing to fill me in on anything. Not sure how much I'm feeling of the baby moving, but it's my first, so I have really no idea as to what I should be "looking" for. I am in my 17th week, and so far, so good!

I have a question for all the moms that have breast fed. I'm thinking about giving it a shot, but when it comes to looking for breast pumps and such, what do I look for? What else do I need with it? I'm going over my registry and looking at BF stuff, but I don't have a clue as to what I should be looking for!! Any help is really appreciated!!!

There should be other threads in this forum about breastfeeding. I've seen a couple, and I'm sure you can PM some of the other members about it (Tmsmalley really helped me out, I think I've bugged her to death with all my questions!)
The Medela Pump in Style breast pump was reccommended to me, and I was extremely fortunate to receive it as a gift. It's supposed to be one of the best for working moms. I think you can look on their website also, and see what all you need to get it to work. Hope that helps!
Oh yeah...I forgot about those forums!! Thanks for reminding me of them!! This whole thing is just so surreal to me that sometimes I am just completely overwhelmed.
My family and BF's family is working on my baby shower, so I'm trying to get everything situated on the registries. UGH.....lol

I'll be 12 weeks pregnant on Tuesday (Due October 2) & had my first ultrasound Thursday. I am 34 (will be 35 at delivery) this is our first pregnancy- it was so amazing to see the little peanut & hear the heartbeat! When they first started the ultrasound the baby was jumping all over the place :) Dr. said everything with baby & me look great. Although I am excited & really looking forward to having the baby there is only one thing that I have enjoyed so far about being pregnant. I used to have migraines several times a week & I haven't had one since about the 5th week- WOW! It's been years since I've gone this long without a headache! I hope they don't return after I give birth! I've been pretty sick as well. Mostly constant nausea but have started throwing up more recently. On the plus side I am not sick EVERYDAY like I was before. I am tired a lot but that has seemed to improve a little recently. Thankfully I a housewife so that's made things easier. For several weeks I rarely cooked (the smell or sight of meat & a lot of foods would make me gag) & did very little cleaning- my husband has been a real trooper & very understanding. I too like many of you have been constipated. I had never had this problem before pregnancy ever- YUCK. I've had to start taking stool softeners & sometimes even Benefiber. Eating FiberOne bars etc. give me a lot of painful gas so I've decided to just keep taking the softeners.
We are pretty sure we are going to find out the gender but we are keeping the name a secret until delivery :)
I have had some crazy dreams but no steamy ones LOL.
I've had a bunch of weird itchy things pop up. The worst has been a rash IN & around my belly button. I've been keeping it really dry & putting Benedryl on it but man is it annoying!
