Hi there!!!
I have a question. Is it OK to have baby at 42 weeks?
My mom and granny told me that all their children (6 total) was late, not 40 but 42 weeks. Does anyone else had the same problem?

My first 2 were both 2 weeks late, born at 42 weeks. Its totally fine!

The only down side is the baby just puts on extra pounds those last 2 weeks.

First pregnancy's tend to go over the due date.

Just checking in here at 16 weeks along!

We had a big scare last week - I began spotting heavily at work. Went home on bedrest/pushing fluids till a morning ultrasound. Scared to death all night as we have a history of miscarriages (never this far along) and tried FOREVER to get pregnant again.

Thankfully the next morning we saw baby - doing wonderful and active as can be. I have a low lying placenta. Which means it sits low slightly in the birth canal and baby's head/movement is causing the spotting. Worst case I will end up with a c-section (kinda bummed there but so grateful baby is ok) but my OB says it's possible it will change as I progress further along. No fun for DH & me until the next ultrasound at 20 weeks - DH requested a doctor's note

Just can't wait now to begin feeling baby move... *waits patiently*

I had a low lying placenta with my first. They found it at my 20 week ultrasound. They did another ultrasound at around 30 weeks and it had moved up slightly and then did another ultrasound at 36 weeks and it again had moved. We decided on an induction so that I would be in the hospital if there were complications. Ended up having an uncomplicated delivery. The chance of it moving are very high as the uterus expands. We were worried also and thankful it worked its way out. Just know that they may not see it move until you are closer to full term.

Hi everyone!

I'm so happy to be joining this forum. I just found out and am 4.5 weeks along. I'm not telling family or friends for a while due to a prior miscarriage at 6 weeks a couple of years ago.

BUT...if I didn't tell anyone, I'd bust at the seams.

So. I'M PREGNANT. YAY.

Good vibes, crossed fingers, and prayers are very welcome!

it's perfectly normal to have a baby between 38-42 weeks, 40 weeks is just average, but a regular obgyn is going to be pushing induction the day you are overdue. I managed to go into labor on my own, but i had an induction scheduled for 3 days later at the doctors insistance, i had ds at 41 weeks.
