My dr told me that he did a csection for a lady on Friday and she was so scarred up inside that he had a hard time getting the baby out. He highly recommended for her to not have any more kids---I want one more and hope that isn't the case with me. Kind of scary!!!

I don't know if having a c-section is considered being induced. I myself am scheduled to have a c-section and with you telling us what you dr told that lady is making me kinda nervous. I am heading in for my 4th c-section. I was watching the discovery channel last night and there was this one lady who was undergoing her 3rd c-section and it took them 20 minutes to get through all her scare tissue to get to the baby. And they said the normal time of an actual c-section is about 5 minutes to get the baby out. My dr also recommended that I get my tubes tied cuz of my previous c-sections, but I'm not sure what if I want to do that or not. I'm gonna get a second opinion before I actully make my decision. My dr with my last child said that he's done 6 c-sections on one lady. So there just may be hope for me. As anyone else undergone multiples before. I really could use some insight on this matter cuz I want to have at least 2 more kids. TIA

I don't think it's being induced either....more like major surgery!! I guess I was induced the first time, 41+ weeks, water broke, contractions were very close, back labor and not dilating so I was given pitocin. Nothing worked so 20+ hrs later and 2hrs of pushing, I had a csec.

I've heard that 4 is the magic number for a csection but I'm sure it all depends on the scarring down there. My friends mom had 9 kids all by csection and that was 30ish yrs ago, so it IS possible but we are all different.

Quit watching those discovery shows.....they scare the crap outta me:hectic1:

I like to watch the "I didn't know I was pregnant" shows b/c I just can't freakin' imagine NOT feeling the baby, not showing, not having heartburn, not throwing up for 3 months, not peeing every 3 seconds etc

Pruning, should you be bending over like that. You're lucky gravity didn' t take over and pulled you forward I am having a hard time sitting up w/o falling and you are pruning your tomatoes. Yes you need to be resting somewhere. I just had a talk my DH tonight about helping out around the house more now. This stomach is getting into the way of everything and when I say everything (XOXO) I mean everything

You are not the first person to say that to me!!! Like I've said b4, I have been very lucky w/ this pregnancy! There is very little that I can't do, such as lift and move heavy things (I learned my limits back in June). My stomach really isn't THAT big where it's getting in the way, so I continue doing what I would normally be doing, just taking more breaks and making sure to put my feet up more often. As for gravity ~ Starting out w/ a chest that was a DD.......my sense of gravity is used to being off kilter, so my body adjusted quickly to bigger belly! LOL

Hi girls. Sorry for my lack of an update since the last post, but...

We had our baby! August 2nd 2009 at 9:34am. Her name is Ari, weighing in at only 2 lbs 12 oz and 16 inches long.

After spending the night in the hospital, I quickly became unstable and ended up getting a helicopter ride to the lifeflighted to a hospital with a NICU. They were able to keep me pregnant for an extra 24 hours by being on magnesium sulfate to keep my blood pressures down. So, I ended up with a c-section and she is currently living in the NICU. She is absolutely adorable with a full head of hair! She is on a CPAP and under a phototherapy light for her bilirubin, but she is doing really well based on her size and super early gestation (10 weeks early).

So, no more pregnancy updates from me, ha. I'm thinking I'll get out of the hospital either tomorrow (Wed) or Thursday so we'll see! The only bad news is that we will have to travel between our house and the hospital to see her and that is a 45 minute drive. :P

I hope I can still post in this thread even though I'm not pregnant anymore. Everyone here was just so helpful and supportive during my pregnancy.

Cara's newborn screen results came back yesterday. They were abnormal. First off, she a sickle cell carrier (which DH's family didn't even mention to us until DH called them and my MIL was like "Oh yeah, I'm a carrier...") which isn't a big deal, I guess, just unexpected.

Cara is being retested, but the doctor thinks she may have a rare metabolic disorder called CUD/CTD. Basically it's disease where the person is lacking an enzyme needed to convert fat cells into glucose. It's pretty serious and if she does have it, she'll have it the rest of her life. Right now we have to feed her every 4 hours like clockwork b/c if she does have this disease, waiting longer than 4 hours to feed her could cause brain damage, heart problems, or even death.

This is terrifying for me and I'm praying her second newborn screen comes back normal and it was just a lab error. I just don't even know what to think. The Dr. told me not to worry until the results come back, but I mean, if you tell me that something is potentially seriously wrong with my child, and if I don't feed my child every 4 hours, and if I notice ANY change in her behavior that I need to rush her to the ER immediately, how am I NOT going to worry? Especially when the result won't come back for at least a week.

PREGGO Re: I'm Pregnant, so who else is too.

Good morning to everyone. I am praying for those that have had their babies and the babies are having complications and for those that are still pregnant. When it comes to our babies/kids we will do anything to protect them. I pray a special prayer over those babies that have been dealing with all these issues that they should not have to face and for their parents to be strong through it all.

Cpaige I've got a nice rack on me too, so I have been dealing with gravity for a long time myself. But it still sometimes try to take over I've finally realized that I can't do all the things I used to do before this belly was added to my front side. Maybe if some of it transfers to my backside then I will be well balanced Anyway ladies I hope you all have a wonderful day

And to those that have already given birth, us still PREGGO ladies still would like for you to continue to post in here to keep us updated and stop in and add your 2cents to the pot.

That's the weird thing- it's a genetic autosomal recessive disorder. You get it like sickle cell- both parents have to be carriers. There is a 1 in 40,000 chance that any baby gets it. I've never heard of it before, much less heard about it in my family or DH's. So I'm hoping they are wrong while simultaneously preparing myself for the worst.
