Hi everyone just wanted to let you know how my dr appt went yesterday. I got another ultrasound (because I am not for along to actually hear the hearbeat yet, and she wanted to make sure everything was ok with the baby. I was able to see HER/HIM standing on HER/HIS head and see the little heart beating on the screen. She recommneded that I get my tubes tied after this one. I have already had 3 c-sections and this will be the 4th so she said that if I was to get preggo again my chances of something happening will greatly increase. So DH and I had already talked about getting it done anyway, but she said it was my choice and that was her advice to me. I will go ahead and ave it done, cuz I would rather not put my life in danger to have another child and be here for the ones that I do have. I've always wanted a big family (6) but I am very happy to have 4. I know that having a c-section is already a danger, but to have the same scar tissue cut over and over again is putting my life at risk. My first c-section was an emergeny one because my son's heart rate kept dropping and wouldn't stay up, and I couldn't dialate pass 4 cm, so I had no choice but to go with it. Then when I get preggo again my dr suggested that I have a c-section and with the 3 one he suggested it again. But its cool I am more than happy to be able to have this last baby.

So has anyone here had a c-section and then a vagainal birth or all c-sections before.

I forgot to mention that my due date is 10/19, but she said that she will more than likely take the baby 10 days before that, cuz she doens't want me going into labor. My last pregancy my blood pressure was up and had been up so they had to take him at almost 2 weeks before my due date then. But he was born just as healthy. All this talk about early delivery and c-sections is making me wonder if I will go into labor much earlier than we are thinking. I've gone through this 3 times already and each one is scarier than the one before.

So has anyone here had a c-section and then a vagainal birth or all c-sections before and how many. I'm shooting for #4 here.

I am having my 2nd csection in August, it will be scheduled 1 week before my due date.

I don't know many hospitals or Dr's that will do vbacs in our area. I think womens hospital does in med center but apparently it's such a risk that many dr's or ins won't allow it.

I'd like 3 kids, but will have to see what happens after my 2nd csection. I was so scared and had issues with the first one.

Not preggers (whew lol), but wanted to chime in on this one:

#1: vaginal with epidural
#2: vaginal without epidural
#3: c-section - 7 weeks early due to his heart condition
#4: vaginal without epidural - 14 months after c-section
#5: vaginal with epidural
TUBAL!!!!!!!! LOL I'm done!!!! Vbacs can be done. I'm still alive after 2. The risks are pretty low unless there are other complications. I was soooooo glad to never have another c-section.

I've done it all (lol) and by far the easiest pain-wise was a vaginal without the epidural. Sounds strange, but the after effects from the epidural were killer (I coulnd't feel my legs or really move at all for almost 24 hours after delivery).

I thought I was dying after my c-section. But I was also released 2 days early so I could go to my sons funeral, so that didn't help. I would highly recommend staying in the hospital for the full amount of time after a c-section.

Anywoo, carry on with giving me baby fever.

I am not pregnant either(Thank You Lord), but I have 7 children and 11 Grandchildren. Does that qualify me to give advice? Ok here it is: When they get to be teenagers NUKE THEM TILL THEY GLOW AND THEN SHOOT THEM IN THE DARK.
My oldest DD had two V births then a C section and then a couple of months ago twins vaginally. Anyway, congrats to all of you who are having babies. My youngest one graduates this year, but we are raising our oldest DGD who is 14, so a few more years before I am done. Some serious advice. Spend time with your kids while you can. The years go by before you know it, they won't remember whether the dishes or the dusting were done, but they will remember that you were willing to spend time with them. My house is always a mess but somehow this is always where my kids friends wanted to be. Ok, I'll butt out of your thread now.

This will be my 3rd c-section. My first was basically an emergency. I naturally went into labor and progressed to pushing REALLY quickly considering it was my first. He was STUCK and after 3+ hours of pushing I was FINALLY relieved with a c-section. He really should have been taken sooner. He was SO stuck and I was thrusting his poor little head straight into a bone or something (he was sunny side up & we couldn't turn him) and his head was pretty badly damaged. If I had a dollar for every *gasp* when they saw the bruising and cut on his head....I still think that's why he has the "issues" he has today. He was 35 weeks. Got a staph infection with this section but a couple of days of IV Antibiotics and a drain and it was fine. Oh yeah, had to have the gall bladder out after that one. That pregnancy included high blood pressue.

My second was going to be a scheduled c-section. There was NO WAY I wanted to go through that again to find out my pelvis really couldn't handle a baby. SURPRISE! So many ridiculous complications with this pregnancy and he arrived (via c-section) 7 weeks and 1 day early after doing 'ridiculous' things to hold off delivery for 4 days. I say ridiculous because I had so many problems from all the drugs they gave me to stop labor and my blood pressure was just bananas at the end.

Needless to say I am scared to death at what this one is going to offer me. I'm really hoping it goes better though. Hubby isn't going to like it when he has to start doing the couponing for me, lol. We always wanted 4 but that plan is DEFINITELY on hold until further notice.

Thanks everyone that stepped in to give me their experiences with c-sections. I'm not scared of them, I just don't like the after effect when the meds were off. Hope everyone is doing well today.

Dwshrty- I hope everything goes well for you! I have no experience with this (as this is my first baby), but I'm sure everything will be fine. Hang in there!

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how we are all feeling!? I've had some serious stress issues (family, not me) since Thursday, and I'm finally just trying to relax today and take it easy.

I'm starting to feel the baby move around more and more, which is good. Hope all is well with everyone.
