Hey JoesWife: I'm in the same age boat as you! I am due in Aug and will be 35 in Nov and this is also my first. I too, suffer from migraines, but unlike you, I am still getting them. I don't wish them on anyone, pregnant or not!!
I think my family is starting to get slightly annoyed with me b/c I am not 'super excited' and I guess...girly? over everything. I can't get it through to them that I am just not that person. I don't get giddy (for lack of a better word) over pregnancy things, including the hearing the heartbeat for the first time. For me, it was like "ok, it's there and it sounds good. Cool" My friends understand my reactions, but not my family. It's frustrating to me that they have these expectations that I should have more powerful reactions to things. I'm just not that person.
I'm currently wide awake, and know that I am going to pay for this at like 10am, since by then I will have been awake for 7 hours........oh man.....I need some more sleep! UGH.....

This Heathen has adopted Cheynesnana as her mom, but she doesn't know it yet
I am 9 weeks today. I go for my second dr's appt on Thursday. Hopefully I will be able to hear a heart-beat this time. We were able to see it on the first ultra-sound, but this time I hope to hear it. I have been very tired and nauseated lately. Like some of you the site and smell of certain foods just turns my stomach. I have been having these cravings for certain foods and once I get them and think about them later, they seem so nasty to me. Like last week I had been craving cheese burger so I get it and after eating it I swore I would not eat another one
When you are pregnant the body goes through so many changes, rashes, hair falling out/hair growth, constipation, diarrhea, back pain, lack of sleep, nightmares and whatever else that can go wrong.
I am hoping for another girl this time. I already have 2 boys and 1 girl so one more girl will feel this gap. I will let you all know how my dr appt goes on Thursday. I don't know why she has me coming back in after only 3 weeks, but oh well we will find out in 3 days.

Glad that you said something about having nightmares, 'cause OMG, am I having them!! I wake up, and I'm frozen in place, can't move, terrified kind of nightmares!!
I have to say, that while my sense of smell is amazing now, none of it is making me sick to my stomach. I've really only had one instance of "omg,...is this really going to come up?" but it didn't. I wonder if it has anything to do with being a vegetarian? Everyone I know that have had kids (all meat eaters) have ALL spent plenty of time kneeling at the toilet, and I haven't. My BF is not a vegetarian and cooking it for him isn't bothering me either, so I am very grateful!!!
Decided that after my next appt, I am going to switch Dr's. I am very unhappy with the place that I am at, as I feel as though they are just doing the basics and can't wait to get me out. Not one person has even asked or mentioned prenatal vitamins to me. Good thing I have been on them since a week after I figured out I was pregnant, at like 5 weeks. No mention of fruits, veggies, nadda. I'm outta there as soon as I can be, just not happy there!

I've been this way with all my pregnancy's, but I can't watch anything related to being scary. I used to watch The First 48, Dr. G's Medical Examiner (autopsy lady), any scary movies, snapped or anything of that nature. It all puts fear inside of me, like something is going to happen to my baby, me or my family My husband thinks im crazy. I mean I used to watch "The First 48" religiously, but I bet you won't catch me watching it now. I already have trouble sleeping (which I take tylenol PM for that). So to add that to it would just make matters worse.
Anyone else scared like me

DW: Are you actually IN Houston? My OB/GYN is in Katy. Love her! Have my first appt next week, actually. She's going to drop her jaw when she sees me in there pregnant again (already) lol.
I have been extremely fortunate. I spent about a week where it took every ounce of energy to keep my eyelids open and have only been 'sick' a handful of times. With my first two I was best buds with the porcelain God, . But the vivid dreams I cannot escape! Perhaps that's why I'm only needing like 6 hours of sleep right now, lol. They aren't scary but they are VIVID!!
Cravings: Garlic Bread. I could eat garlic bread at every single meal! Hubby is at least patient with my cravings. I buy the toast so that I can just make a couple of pieces and I make it with almost every single meal. Hubby sure gets a good laugh!
Anyone else having hip or knee pain? I usually sleep on my left side or belly. I can pretty much sleep any position until recently. It kept me up last night. My left hip is really hurting & my knee isn't feeling to hot either.
I have never been a scary show person. But even shows that are a little gross that I might of enjoyed before have no interest to me now.
Yesterday was probably one of my best days so far. I felt GREAT. ow if I could get my hip to calm down...

I've been having all kinds of aches and pains, lol. People have said I shouldn't complain now and that it will only get worse later on, so I guess I should be thankful I'm not doubled over in pain all the time the way some people make it sound, lol.

My hips have been hurting really bad if I lay on my side for too long, which usually isnt a problem. I love to sleep on my belly but I nurse DD 1 and she gets MAD if I turn over on my belly so it's sleeping on my side or no sleep at all, for me.....
I'm fine with my hip/hips hurting as long as I don't have to deal with a kidney stone like with my first pregnancy. luckily that is the only one I've ever had. Hope NONE of you know what that feels like.
I have an ultrasound in 2 days (thursday) and hoping to find out if this one will be a boy or a girl - I'll be about 19 weeks. I'll also be back with an "official" due date
Congratulations! After a year and a half of trying we are 14 weeks along with our first baby. Yeah! I feel like I have been really blessed so far. I only got sick a handful of times. I lost 6 pounds so far because I am not eating nearly as much. I have body aches, fatigue, sore boobs and the like, but overall I feel good. I am rather disappointed that I can't eat my favorite food, Caesar salads, right now but I can't hack them. Best wishes to everyone!
