Default Where to find deep bowled short handle spoon?

The title pretty much says it. My LO isn't ready for adult utensils yet but all the baby stuff we have (and that I've seen) has tiny little bowls that don't hold enough food for her, plus everything falls off them.

I've seen some disposable kid's spoons at Kroger-- I think they're Muppets designs? And since they're disposable, you could play around with trying to shorten the handles if they're too long (just be sure to file down or slightly melt any rough edges if you do that)...

HTH!

I have the "disposable" spoons from Krogers and my kids love them, but I have been using them and putting them in the dishwasher for probably four years now, so I don't consider them disposable. I think you would have a hard time altering them because they are a pretty heavy plastic. They may be a little shorter than regular plastic utensils but not much. I can't remember when my oldest started using them but my now three year old has been using them for months (so I am going to say since 2 1/2 if not before). We had a set with Pooh characters and then I bought the muppet ones because my Kroger had them on close-out. I think full price was $1.60 or so (for a set of 12- four spoons, knives and forks)- so well worth it to us!

Just checked and they don't have a brand name printed on them, but I know I got the first box at Schnucks so it isn't exclusively a Kroger thing. (The Pooh box had a MIR on it- so I even got it for free! Like I said, that was several years ago, though, so don't get too excited.)

my daughter prefers these Gerber Scoopin Spoons or the Gerber Tossables. i also just wash the tossables in my dishwasher (usually in one of those baby baskets on the top rack). they've been going strong for over a year now.

Gerber also makes the toddler sets of utensils. The spoon is pretty deep, and he likes having his own knife, too.

The scooping spoons are great too b/c the bowl part is a soft flexible plastic or rubber or whatever material so it makes it easier for them to get the food out if they are feeding themselves. They really really stink if you are trying to feed them with it though. I recommend the tossable ones if you are feeding them something. And like everyone said, I have been using the tossable spoons for more than 2 years now so they are pretty durable. I have put them in the bottom rack with the rest of the silverware and they have done fine.
