Another good resource is Sonlight. They are a Christain literature based curriculm. I would order their catalog and then check the books out from the library.
I started K-4 which was working in workbooks, counting, phonics and literature. This year my son turned five in November. He started reading in December and has mastered K Math in three months. We used Math U See. My three year old listens to stories and then wanders off. She know (and her brother on "I don't want school days") she has to start next year.
What I am saying or atleast trying to. Do not let the age guide you, let the skill guide you. If I listen to everyone Zander would not be reading four letter words when he turned five or adding and subrating. So many people said "he just four don't worry till he is five or six" One day he wanted to do school, so we started math and he did five lesson in that day.
Go by what your child wants to do. Remember every day is a day to expand their knowledge. We learned about how the scanner at the grocery store works the other day because he kept asking older lady at Food Lion. We came home looked it up and then next time we went to FL he told her. She is our favorite cashier and know we hs so she just smiled and thanked him because she never knew that.
anyways I am rambling. There are enough hs moms on her to answer you questions. Look on the Yahoo boards, there might be one for your area or atleast state.
