Default Re: Best breast pump?

I have the PIS and like it, though frankly it wasn't a bit faster than the manual except that I was doing two boobs at once. But I don't think I could have used two manual pumps at once so there you are. Unfortunately it's hard to know what will work for you. But don't skimp on a good one if you think it's what you want, it's still cheaper than formula. If you liked the avent you had you may want to buy another avent.

a friend got one free from WIC and gave it to me after using it. I used it 4x a day for my first son (wouldn't nurse) for 9 mos and am now using it at least 4x a day for my second.

so if you qualify for a program like WIC, check with them. they would much rather give you a $200 pump and have a more healthy breastfed baby than have to shell out $150+ a month on formula!

I got the Ameda Purely Yours and it was great.

I bought mine from a lactation consultant and it was CHEAP - very highly discounted because she had quite a few.

Thumbs Up Re: Best breast pump?

I had a Medella Double pump Electric. It was great. Even though it was double, I began by doing one side at a time. Took over 45 mins!!! AGH! Then I started doing both and it took about 20 mins! It was pretty comfortable, if you can say that. lol. It was actually the number one recommended by my hospital, the nursery, my OB/GYN and my daughter's pediatrician. After I finished using it, I actually just loaned it to my expecting cousin. She is going to buy all of the attachment parts and use the base. When my hubby and I are ready to try again, we'll get it back. Definitely worth the money! Great Product!!!!

I've been using a different product and that product is a product of Simple Wishes. I love wearing them, the comfort and the fit of it are excellent for me. This is really my companion in life on taking care of my daughter to give her the nourishment that she needs. I know that you'll love it also. (learn more...)

Medela PIS Advanced. The best $230 spent. Got it on sale for $269 (backpack version) plus 20% off coupon that I found at BRU at a checkout.

I'm a SAHM(but also in the national guard) and found that the lasinoh double electric was pretty good. since i only needed it to pump for weekends when i would be away, it worked out great and the price was right. If you are planning on using yours a lot because of work, get a Medela. But Lasinoh can last for about a year and a half if you use it everyday, so if you need something occasional this is the ticket.
