Re: Which diapers are your favorites? I used to just buy the BJs Premiums by the case with ds#1. Precouponing and working mom days so it was convenient. DH was working a mile from BJ's so he could pick them up on his way home from work. I never had a blowout or leaks or anything from those and my daycare lady never complained about them either.
We did alot of the CVS brand for DS#2 and never had a problem with those either. If we went name brand, mostly went with Huggies Ultra Fit. The Supremes (old style) just seemed that they weren't as comfortable a fit for him. We had a package or two of the Ultra Fit where the tabs would break off and that was annoying as anything, especially at the 2am feeding and diaper change when I really just wanted to be sleeping. I'm not sure if it was a defective tab or defective mommy moments, but Huggies treated me well when I called in to tell them about it.
Pampers - would work in a pinch if they were the only thing on sale but hate hate hate (did I mention hate) the powder smell even when they were dry, and when they were wet, even worse.
When he got bigger (size 5 and 6 diapers) I used the Huggies Convertibles because I got a boat load of trial size free and I wouldn't have paid money for them. The concept is great as baby can either be laying down to put it on as a regular diaper or standing up like a pullup. But if you're looking for something that the baby can stand up, step into and toddle off, forget it. Without ripping the attached tabs and tightening them which is easier to do while the baby's laying down, they wouldn't have stayed up very well. Even with the tabs tightened, they were still very saggy.
We're now into training pants and hands down Huggies Pullups. I love the velcro sides so if we're out and about town I don't have to strip him completely to change him and put a new one on him. My only complaint is a silly one. We buy the Learning Design ones and his size now has Cars designs. it alternates between Lightning and then the Fire Truck. DS thinks that he needs to have the Truck one each time, so it's sometimes a challenge to get a new one and his pants pulled up before he sees what I've chosen. They should just be the same pattern through the package like the Cool Alert ones are.
Huggies Easy Ups have that same nasty powder smell, that I can smell anytime he's within 5 feet of me and I'm constantly checking to see if it's a clean nasty smell or a wet nasty smell.
The RiteAid pants are too elasticy on the sides and leave elastic itchy looking marks on his skin and I haven't tried any other brands.
