Default Re: favorite brand of diapers?

I always preferred the generics--usually the store brands are all identical. They aren't heavily scented like pampers and luvs and don't leak as easily as Huggies. However, I am using luvs because that is what I got cheap this time around.

For DS, I used the plain CVS from the time he was a newborn until just now (he has just gotten potty trained).
I have a 4 week old DD, and so far, the CVS brand works pretty well (better than the newborn Huggies we had in the hospital).

I also like Huggies, but the Pampers' smell has always bothered me.

I guess I'm a diaper snob. I really like Pampers. I used Cruisers and Swaddlers until they added the caterpillar stretch to the Baby Dry. Maybe I'm immune, but I don't notice the smell y'all have mentioned. Huggies are my second choice, but they don't have those wrap-around-tabs that give a really good fit like Pampers do.

I've tried Luvs and found them to be inferior to most store brands. I won't use them again.

When it comes down to it, it's just one of those things where I buy some name-brand stuff for myself so in my mind, I can't justify putting generic on her booty. That probably sounds so stupid! But at the time, I wasn't couponing like I am now. Maybe I'd have taken a different approach. Regardless, this kid is just about potty-trained so I've been using the same pack of diapers for two weeks. Wooooohooo!

Default Re: Which diapers are your favorites?

We primarily use cloth diapers (much cheaper and better for the environment!) but when we buy disposables (such as for traveling) I like Pampers if we have the $$, otherwise, the Kroger brand is actually really nice!

I HATE the Meijer brand! They don't stay closed for crap!

&%$*%^ Procter & Gamble diapers!!!!

I mentioned before that Luvs gave the Pinenut a rash. So I got my satisfaction guarantee and stopped buying them. Somewhere along the line, I got 6 packs of Size 4 Cruisers at CVS. We're in 4s for overnight.

The stupid things are making his little bits all red.

So now I have to exchange 5 packs of Pampers Cruisers for the Huggies Supremes that DON'T rashify him. As if I didn't have enough to do.

This is off topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread since it does pertain to diapers anyway.

Do they still sell Pampers Baby Dry in Mega and Super Mega? Just curious so I use up those that I can't exchange (if they don't sell them anymore) since DS seems to be growing like a weed lately! I've had to exchange two packs of Size 1, 6 Size 2. I have a TON of Size 3 so I'm hoping we stay in those a while. I guess he didn't get my memo about how many packages I have and he has to stay in a certain size until they're all gone! LOL!

I agree on the Pampers. I used Swaddlers and then Baby-Dry (or Cruisers if I have to). Now DS is in size 6. Eeek! I haven't noticed a smell, but after DS hit size 5, the Pampers never seemed to hold enough to last all night so I bought Huggies Overnights which worked wonders. Now that I've moved to a different state - I can't find the Huggies Overnights anywhere! I'm not happy with the wet clothes. :frown:

I have tried almost all of the other brands I could get my hands on early on and found either they were inferior quality (had to use 2 for each 1 Pampers) or they were equal quality but they always ended up being more $ since I almost always was able to buy my Pampers with coupons and stocked up on really good sales at Target and such.

Being pregnant with #2, I might have to try some off brands again (new stores) to see if I can find anything cleaper. I'm almost afraid to stock up before the baby is born!

I used Pampers Swaddlers for size N and 1, then Huggies Gentle Care for sizes 1 and 2, now I'm on Pampers Baby Dry for size 3. I loooove buying store brand so I can save money but I have used LUVS, Parents Choice and my MIL gave me some ShopRite brand and they suck! The ShopRite brand are NOT for overnight use!!! I love my Pampers!

What are your experiences with diapers?

What problems have you had with different brands of diapers, that you have had to go to the extent of complaining to the company? I had to complain once about the tabs being stuck on the diapers. Has anyone had the same problem?

What are your experiences with diapers?

Which ones are the best in your opinion?

(Hopefully this clears up any misunderstandings that I was looking for something to complain about)

Default Re: Complaining to Diaper Companies

I have only complained once and I didn't have to think about it because I was truly unsatisfied with the diapers. Each diaper tab was sealed under part of the diaper. I was still able to use them but it was a pain to unseal each tab.

I would never complain unless I had a valid reason. So if you have a true complaint you shouldn't have to think too hard about it.
