But i've heard of different inserts you can buy for them for at night. Personally I love my cloth diapers and use them during the day. But for night I like luvs, pampers, huggies all the same. The generics i've tried stink they never hold the pee. Luvs are the cheapiest and they are the same in quality as pampers and huggies.

You've got to double up inserts for night time. Cloth diapers aren't generaly designed to go that long without being changed. I've had better luck with using fitted that are designed for night time. Although doubling the inserts works well most of the time. Depending on how long my LO sleeps, she often sleep 14 hours at night so if it's a long night they start to leak around the edges a bit, however sposies leak pretty much all the time when that happens so it's just one of those things. people sometimes try one cloth diaper and thne if it doesn't work the go back to sposies, foregtting that one kind of sposies do not work for all kids.

The Bum genius came with the newborn insert then one smaller insert. I used both at night and it wouldn't hold the pee. But I haven't given up on cloth diapers Im still using them just not at night. Ive heard of using different types of inserts like hemp etc. Besides that here soon I wont be able to afford to even buy disposable diapers anymore. Im still using up my stockpile but just at nightime. The next baby is going to be on cloth diapers from the get go. Disposables just make to much trash.

At night I stuffed them with a Little Lions or a Green Mountain Diaper (GMD) prefold. Once those are prepped they hold an insane amount of pee! They can be a little bulky, but my DD adjusted to that really quickly. I would use a GMD prefold and one of the BG inserts and she'd go all night and into breakfast (she would not let me change her before she ate, kid is potty trained now and still will eat breakfast before going potty, it's just her).

Pampers by far! Plus it seems like they offer more coupons than other brands. There are always pampers coupons on the back of cheerios boxes. The free toys, GC's etc with pampers points don't hurt my feelings either.

Pampers were my first clue on my DD that she had a problem with chemicals. The doctor called it a chemical rash and told me I had to do something else for her. After a while it became all disposables, with Huggies being the least irritating but they weren't shaped right for my child. So, I went with cloth for her sake, and because I was tired of how expensive Balmex could be!
I feel for your poor kiddo, that rash is so painful! And Pampers put GLUTEN in their diapers, so it could be a contact gluten allergy too. There is also nikel in almost every sposie, along with a host of other chemicals that could be the culprit. Too bad they don't have to put a label with every chemical listed so parents can avoid certain ones, especially if they have a kid with allergies!

i have to say i love pampers. 7 years ago i only got luvs, but on the latest baby, seems luvs have skimped on the absorbancy and they just don't last overnite like pampers. huggies have always leaked around the legs, so i avoid those. got a few playskool and comforts (kroger brand) on sales, and will be trying for the first time on baby due in oct., so the jury's still out on those.

if i am committed and make the time (with 4 that will be a challenge) i will attempt cloth again for those first few months when changes are so frequent!
