Default Re: Need help with experience with CVS and Walmart brand diapers and/or other store brands--thanks!!!

I don't know all of the differences between the CVS diapers and I have not used all of the diapers you mentioned but here's my opinions of generics I've tried:
CVS Supreme- I love these diapers. Just as good as Huggies/Pamps IMO
Playskool diapers- hate them and would not buy them
Wags- can't remember the names- one is Supreme and they have another one- both good IMO
Target- don't like their brand

All I can suggest is to stock up when a good sale strikes. CVS had BOGO diapers a WHILE back which was great but I haven't seen that deal in a long time. Wags had a $5/2 q and a RR a while back as well which was great.

Good luck with your situation. Even though you and your daughter's father split up I hope you're getting child support.

Default Change in income, need help with cheap diapers --need others' experiences with particular store brands quality and prices

I need help with diapers--deals, cheap generics, etc. Dd's dad and I just split up, so I only have my income, and also have a lot less time to gather coupons and watch sales and match, etc like I used to...I'm a full-time college student and working. I liked Pampers cruisers the best they're super absorbent and soft like cloth (I've tried all the name brands)......but I'm looking at the generics in order to save some $$, and I'm trying to find which ones are the best for my $$. I've tried white cloud, and I like those okay, and I just got some of the WAGs diapers--not sure what I think of them yet--no leaks, but I'm more concerned with the comfort I guess b/c dh is so sensitive to different kinds of wipes/diapers. The parent's choice wipes were horrible on her little butt--like sandpaper. If I could use cloth diapers I would, but I don't have a washer and dryer and I have a hard time getting to the laundry quickly as it is b/c it's such a pain to lug it back and forth--I'd hate to have dirty diapers laying around in addition to everything else.

I'm just a little confused with the "regular" store brands and "premium," and like CVS has the explorers which I guess are supposed to be comparable to pampers, and the supremes that are supposed to be comparable to huggies.

If I'm buying generic diapers, is it worth it to pay for the "premium" generic diapers money and quality wise???

I don't have a target...I'm trying to find out people's experiences with wags, cvs, wm, k-mart, and (hy-vee diapers (???)) and wipes.

I really don't want to buy the cheapest just because they are cheap, in fact I never tried store brands I was always partial to the name brands pampers and huggies. I know they just get filled with poop and pee but I always felt dd should be as comfortable as possible and I didn't want to put her in cheap diapers or use cheap wipes aka the store brands...and even now I do feel slightly guilty for starting to do it now...but anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated...I'm extremely low on diapers/wipes I've just been buying the smallest packages when I run out...I need a deal soon!!!

Do you have an Albertsons (or any of the stores that run the same promos like Shaws or Jewel?)

I'm sorry to hear of your split, I hope you are holding up ok!!

There is a thread in here somewhere about comparing diapers. I think we each sort of have our own ideas and what works for one won't work for the other.

I prefer huggies wipes to pampers b/c pampers seem to break apart easily BUT I do like pampers swipers wipes.

As far as diapers, I prefer huggies but the wags diapers are just as good. I haven't used cvs since last spring, but those ones were fine also. I never have had luck with walmart or target diapers, always leaked or broke apart. Pampers are ok in my book, they are super soft but I hate how gel like they feel after just ONE pee.

hopefully there will be a diaper deal somewhere again soon---I'm low also.

Personally, once my son stopped being rashy with other diapers we will put anything on his hiney as long as they don't break or leak

No I don't have any of those stores anywhere near me. I've never even heard of any of those stores except this site. : (

Also--Just started trying the maxi pad idea at night (was buying Huggies overnights and they are SO expensive). I haven't bought pads or tampons for years b/c the types of birth control I've used have all made me stop menstruating so I'm out of the loop on these deals and I see ppl referring to free maxi pads--which drug stores do you find these deals?? And what size do you use, regular, super, or overnight? I bought the super size which work great, but it makes the diapers fit much tighter I almost need a larger size diaper to use these with...

I havent tried any generics diapers in a while, I've been loyal to huggies for the last 6 months.... but I do have to say something about playskool wipes(cvs). the scented ones, IMO, are awful. they give me a headache, the scent is so strong, and NOT a fresh-baby type scent, it is like one of the 80 year old ladies who showers in perfume. my mom agreed, that they smell just awful. I also think the "unscented" ones smell a little funny. I havent tried the sensitive ones yet.

My youngest DD can only use Walgreens Premium Diapers. We have tried Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, Target brand, Safeway Brand you name it and she either was allergic to them or she leaked right out of them continously. This week Walgreens brand diapers are $5.99. Good Luck.
