Re: At what age did you begin potty training? I tried to train my DS (now 5) when he was one. i moved to pull-ups and spent the next 2 years buying pull-ups instead of diapers. I went undies only and did tons of laundry. About 2 months before he turned four he walked into the living room and said "Mom, i went poop." Just like that and never looked back. 'I' was doing all I knew to do and when he was good and ready, it happened. I have to admit that in frustration I tried lots of things, including showers (which he hated and probably why he won't take them now) to get him to potty train. Like many things that happen with my kids, they will do it in their own time (like their mama). He still wets occasionally at night (deep sleeper like me)
DD turned 3 in April and did not train until last month. I work full time and completed my master's degree in June. I wanted to be sure that I was consistent in training so I waited until summer break. I went from diapers to undies and in less than 5 days she was trained. it was WAY less painlfu than my son. She has some poop accidents, but, oh well that's what cheapy undies are for.
So it is what it is. The age each child potty trains at depends on 2 key items, the parent and the child. I have to say from personal experience, don't do pull-ups. we only use them at night. Regular diapers are way cheaper.
