    Oh man...DS was a little tiny one!...6lbs 3oz
He was in NB's until almost 2 months. So I under-bought NB and overbought 1's. I had to return some, and sold some to friends. Good thing Walmart has easy returns!

I think I am right on schedule with the 2's - I am stocked on 3's...but may need more...and need to work on 4's and 5's. My son is a lean baby though...agh it's so "iffy"

Okay, here is where i stand with my stockpile as of now, I think I am pretty much done with my disposable stockpile, which my aim is about 25%, and I plan to cloth diaper the rest of the time:

    newborn: 2 packs
size 1: 4 packs ( might get 1-2 more packs, but will wait since i may get a few packs at the baby shower in this size)
    size 2: 5 packs
    size 3: 9 packs
size 4: 12 packs (ended up with more than i planned)
    size 5: 2 packs
    pullups: 2t: 1 pack
    pullups 3t: 2 packs
    pullups 4t: 1 1/2 packs

wipes: 29 tubs, and 10 40 ct packs: about 2500 total: goal was 1500, but they were free

total i have spent about 100$ oop give or take on all that and it took me over a year to stockpile them, i haven't bought much since i've actually been pregnant, since it took a while to conceive.

so now i am working on my cloth diaper stockpile, i've spent about 100$ oop on those so far and hope to spend just about 100$ more.

total: about 300$ for diapers/wipes from birth to 2, i hope. I decided i am not going to stockpile pullups unless they are like free or something, I've got time and with ds they really seemed to hinder his potty training so i may use them less with this next one!

I know that this is a total off the wall question that can have a ton of different answers but for me being a new mom the lbs that the sizes fit that they put on the packages makes no sense to me in terms of how old my baby will be when she uses them. Does anyone have a guess as to how many months there babies were in each size. I think it would be easier to guess how many diapers... maybe I'm wrong

i brought a whole bunch of wags size 4 diapers for my daughter and after reading that wags diapers run small. i totally forgot since i been using all different brand diapers for her. maybe the next pack i should use is the wags brand. she is using cvs brand during the day and huggies during the night but those are the ones that run kinda big.

well, my real question is that my daughter is 21 months and she is still in size 4. i have not attempt to potty train her yet and she is my first baby. i think i overstocked size 4s for her but thats okay. i started stocking size 5 and some 2T/3T training undies for her. she is pretty lean. is size 5 and 2T/3T sizes about the same? and i am not sure if i should continue to stock size 5s or stock both? because the diapers have more in a pack than the training undies.

Okay I need advice, I plan to do mostly cloth, but the first month plan to use disposables, right now I have 2 newborn packs and 6 size 1, ds was 9lbs and dd I expect to be the same. Should I get more size 1? I read that babies go through about 300 diapers the first month and that is about what I have, but then the second month I plan to go mainly cloth, but may still sposables for outings which would mean if dd is still needing size 1 I would probably be out...I also have stocked up on 2,3,4 sizes pretty much but could use another size 3 and maybe some size 5...thinking of the wags deal this week.

My kids were 10 and almost 9 lbs. My recommendations and the explanations for them are in post #378.

I did cloth with my 3rd as a newborn. Outings and all. It depends on how committed you are...And how you'd feel about donating any extra packs. I'd maybe aim for a couple of packs of size 2 if you're unsure. They grow out of 1's so fast and the generics always seem to run small. The wags deal is a good one, I'm trying to decide how much longer I have until potty training my 27 month old.

Thanks I went over the numbers and I should be okay, I used your formula and stockpiled about 1/4th of your guidelines, I am still unsure how many disposables I will use, but I do know I will be using more in the first couple months, so I have more like 1/2 of the smaller sizes.

Yeah I added up all the the diapers I have and I found I should be good in all the sizes newborn-4, I do know the wags deal will come around again in a few months if I need more diapers. I figured have about enough diapers in newborn-size 1 one to last about 5 1/2 weeks or so exclusively using them, and I have 6 packs of size 2 and planned on stockpiling only 4 packs, so I should be okay. I was also looking at ds's growth chart and he was over 14lbs at 8 weeks, so if dd follows a similiar pattern, she will need size 2 by 6-7 weeks anyway.

I think my preggo brain is just feeling like I need more things for dd and I am getting close to EDD, 5 weeks from today, so I am freaking out a little..

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I made my own stockpile chart for diapers and wipes. Based on the diaper chart and recommendations by mrs. p. Rounded out low for the amount of diapers per pack. I am buying more in bulk right now due to the amazon.com $10 codes. Not sure if anyone can use this, but I was getting slightly confused on how I could keep track since I'm buying bigger than jumbo packs at the moment and don't want to over buy per suggested guidelines.

    Baby
    Disposable Diapers
Newborn diapers: (179 diapers total) DONE
    - (4) Walgreen’s Jumbo packs (42 diapers x 4= 168 diapers)
    - (1) Huggies Pure & Natural sample size (1 diaper)
    - (1) Pampers sample (1 diaper)

    Size 1 diapers: 93/480 diapers
    (1 jumbo pack (average 40 diapers per pack x 12 jumbo packs= 480 diapers)
    - (1) Pampers Swaddlers box (92 diapers)
    - (1) Kirkland’s size 1-2 diaper (1 diaper)

    Size 2 diapers: 168/756 diapers
    (1 jumbo pack (average 42 diapers per pack x 18 jumbo packs= 756 diapers)
    - (1) Pampers Swaddlers box (84 diapers)
    - (2) Walgree’s Jumbo packs (42 diapers x 2= 84 diapers)

    Size 3 diapers: 72/1050 diapers
    (1 jumbo pack (average 30 diapers per pack x 35 jumbo packs= 1050 diapers)
    - (2) Walgreen’s Jumbo packs (36 diapers x 2= 72 diapers)

    Size 4 diapers: 3/1050 diapers
    (1 jumbo pack (average 30 diapers per pack x 35 jumbo packs= 1050 diapers)
    - (3) Pampers samples (3 diapers)

    Size 5 Diapers: 4/? diapers
    - (4) Pampers Cruiser samples (4 diapers)

    Wipes
    878 total
    (1) Pampers Unscented Soft Care Wipes box (720 wipes)
    (1) Pampers Sensitive Wipes samples (6 wipes)
    (1) Huggies Natural Care sample (8 wipes)
    (2) CVS Thick n’Soft Baby Wipes (72 wipes x 2= 144 wipes)
