Thanks! I did get the $5 Luvs coupon. I went to Target today and got a box of size 2's. They were $17.99 - $1 Target Luvs Coupon - $5 Luvs coupon, so I paid $11.99 for 108 diapers. Which makes them 11 cents a diaper. I don't know if that is a good price or not.

I usually try to stay under $0.10 per diaper, but with twins in your situation, one can never have enough. It is an excellent price, you did great!

I wanted to say how awesome it is to have a stockpile of dipes and wipes.

Personally we used no NB dipes, but I had similar amounts as the mod's and it has worked well. We have about 130 size 1 left and our son is 4 weeks, he'll move into 2s by the end of those. I highly recommend her charts-worked for us and our baby. I have noticed Huggies Pure and Natural run smaller than Pampers-I'll use those first on each size.

Yes it is. Caroline is 3 months old and we still haven't had to buy a single diaper or wipe. I can really hold out for the GREAT deals.

Newborn
Never actually bought any for DS. He was 10 lb at birth. We used about a pack in the 4 nights we were in the hospital, and the 32 sample diapers I had collected from the OBs office. We then went straight to Size 1.

For DD, we did use 2 packs of NB in the hospital and the first week home. She lost a lot of weight in the beginning, but still could have used 1s. I had samples of the NBs for her, too.

Final Recommendation: For the average person, I would purchase no more than 2 packs of NB diapers.

Size 1
Have: 14
Goal: 12 (what I actually used for the Pinenut) DONE

With DD, I have 5 packs of the 1s left over. This is because I actually used NB with her, I had more than I used with him and she poops a lot less than DS did.

Final Recommendation: I am going to stick with my original amount of 10 packs of Size 1s for the average stockpiler.

Size 2:
Have: 18 + added 5 more later = 23
Goal: 18 DONE

I switched her over at about the same point that I did DS -- 12 lbs. I have one tall, skinny kid and one shorter, chunkier one and they switched into 2s at the same weight.

Since Walgreen's diapers run small, I made sure that those were the first ones I used. I overpurchased size 2s with both kids.

Final Recommendation: 15 packs for the average stockpiler.

Size 3:
Had: 35
Used: 34 for the Pinenut
Have: ??? Stockpile is split between 2 houses.
Goal: 35 DONE + bought 3 more packs = 38

DD is currently 59 weeks old (13.5 months), 22.5 lbs, and 31 1/2 inches long. We've been in 3s since about 24 weeks and 16 lbs. DS switched to 3s at 21 weeks, but he was also at 16 lbs at the time.

We've used some 4s at night for a month or two, exactly the same as with DS. She's finishing off the stocpile of 3s. We may end up with some spare packs because I bought extras and the Walgreen's ones were teeny.

Final recommendation: 35 packs for the average stockpiler.

Size 4:
Had: 28; used whole stockpile plus 1 mega pack from new baby pile, so about 30ish packs used
Have: 35 + bought 1 jumbo and 2 value boxes more
Goal: 35 DONE

Size 5:
Have: purchased over 50 packs, and are on a buy-as-you-go system
Goal: Not sure.

I originally had nothing but Walgreen's 5s, and since those run a bit small, I think we made the switch sooner than we might have otherwise. The smaller pack counts mean that more are needed.

DS is just over 3, and still shows no signs of potty training. He's still in 5s. We have used a ton of 5s, and all of the Walgreen's 6s, since they were so small.

Size 6:
Have: 9
Goal: Not sure -- these are all Walgreen's, so we will probably use them like 5s, since they run small.

Used up.

3T/4T Training Pants:
Have: 4
Goal: Haven't decided- I don't honestly know if I plan to potty train with PullUps -- maybe just training underwear.

4T/5T Training Pants:
Have: 2
Goal: Haven't decided

PREGGO Re: Diaper Stockpile?

Jus wanted to add a little something to this thread. My sister just had a baby in October and my other sister is due in April something in the water!

Anyway at my youngest sisters baby shower we did a HUGE steak dinner gift basket. Filled with great items for a steak dinner (cost me $50 to make it up). In the invitations we wrote :

For every package of baby wipes your bring your name will be entered into a drawing for a steak basket!! WOW, the wipes came in by the case load! Each package = 1 entry!! The guest loved the idea and my little sister has well over 500 packages of wipes and baby is now 4 months!

We are doing the same thing April but with a spagehtti basket instead! Bring on the baby wipes!

Reps to Mrs. Pinecone. I am due in July and have started my stockpile. It is nice to have your estimates of what is needed. :) Or suggested. I have 5 packs of 1s and 1 pack of 2s so far. :)

I can vouch for Mrs P's numbers, I used exactly 10 packs for size one and we're on track to use 15 for size 2.
