^My girls wear Pampers and have never had issues with yeast infections. The diaper brand all depends on your baby. Some are sensitive to certain brands Luckily my girls have buns of steel, so they wear everything. I have about 1400 diapers in house right now and am worrying about my stockpile getting low!

HELP Stock pile baby diapers -baby due in November???

I am having my third son in November and I have been stockpiling diapers for several months now. I has been hard because my other two boys were still in them so not alot of wiggle room in the budget for extra diapers. Based on everyone's experience what amount of Jumbo pack diapers should I stockpile for each size? You would think that I would know this but I was not couponing when my other two son's were born and I have a hard time remembering how many packs they went threw. I would appreciate any help becuase my baby shower will be for diapers and wipes and I need to have an idea of how many of each size to ask for.
Thanks so much!!

I don't have a set amount to give you but I know (I still have one in diapers) that they stay in size 4 and 5 the longest, they kinda fly through size 1,2, and 3. I have two boys and my first was in Newborn size for 8 or 9 packs. I only got one pack of newborns for my second son and I could not finish the pack, he was the same weight but just shaped differently.

Although you will not use them right off the bat, I would stock most on size 4 and 5 both in the regular and overnight types. I say you would be safe with 10 packs of each of 1, 2 and 3. In my experience the overnights are cheapest at KMart if you have $2 coupons and use them during a double coupon event which bring them down to $5.99 a pack. I now like the Target Up&Up brand. Their regular price of $16.89 (pack of 70 diapers in size 5) is good unless you have a great sale going on somewhere. You can always ask for Target gift cards...

In size 1 you will need about 8 a day = 240 a month
In size 2 about 6 a day = 180 a month
In size 3 about 6 a day = 180 a month
In size 4 about 5 a day = 150 a month
In size 5 about 4 a day = 120 a month
And about one pack of overnight diapers a month in size 4 and 5 if you use those.

Each kid is different, hope this helps.

I just started using the Target Up and Up. I think the regular price varies by area, our regular price is $13.99 (pack of 70 size 5's). My son was in 3's the longest. 1's and 2's were fast and I think he was in 3's when he was 6 mos old. He wore 3's until he was about 15 or 16 mos and we switched to 4's and he just went to 5's about 3 mos ago (just turned 2). If you end up having too many of one size stocked a lot of stores will let you exchange for a different size even without a receipt.

This is a great thread! Thanks for all the info! my husband and I have no children, but are having a pre-pregnancy type meeting with a doctor in a few weeks and I decided to start stockpiling. Got like 5 packages of diapers so far, hopefully ther will be good deals somewhere to get free/supercheap...
Thanks!

My son is 8 weeks old and was 7lbs 4.9oz at birth, now he's 12lbs.

We have gone through 3 packs newborns (only 1 pack with my 1st kiddo though ---so I had to send dh to store twice to get more newborn diapers)

Size 1's: We've gone through 6 jumbo packs so far and have 1 more pack left till we switch over to size 2s.

Just to give you an idea

I found this guideline at HCW when I was expecting and this is what I used when stockpiling. The notes in red are what we actually had and used.
Newborn - just what was sent from the hospital (had 4 - used 4)
Size 1 - 10 (had 10 - used 10)
Size 2 - 22 (had 20 - used 9)
Size 3 - 24 (have 9)
Size 4 - 18 (have 2)

My daughter is 5 1/2 months old now. We are switching to size 3's this week. She was 8.2lbs at birth and is now a chunky 18lbs. What I didnt take into account is that my daycare (my aunt) provides diapers. So that's why I ended up with so many extra 2s. I'm hoping to exchange them for 3s and 4s. Anyway, hope that helps.

thanks i was looking for a list like this too. i do some cloth diapering, but have been working on my stockpile of disposables, looks like with that list i should probably cool it with the size 2's and 3's. I need to check my numbers but i think i am almost at the number of diapers i would like to have and I'm not pg yet...

Thanks for the amounts! I am having twins and I will have to double those numbers. I am trying to not get too many newborn or size 1, but with twins, I am no where near to where I need to stop getting them. I might get a pack of premies too.

Wish you luck with your diaper stockpiling! Did you sign up for the 5/1 luvs homemailer a few weeks back? I just mine in the mail this week. I know one of my local grocery stores had the big boxes on sale for 11 or 12 a box but only size 3, i hope they still do when i go up there next time cause it will only be like 6-7 dollars for the box.

i just checked my stockpile and i think i divided Mrs. Pinecones chart in 1/4 or 1/2 I can't find the chart but here is what i am planning:

newborn 1/1 done
size 1 3/3 done
size 2: 5/5 done
size 3 6/8
size 4 4/8

wipes 1128/1000 Done

pullups/easy ups:

size 2t-3t 0 of 3
size 3t-4t 2 of 4 (leftover from ds)
size 4t-5t 5 packs (leftover from ds he never used this size, so might craigslist a few of these rather than keep them)

ETA: Most of the diapers are huggies brand, i got a lot of them from the kmart superdoubles with the kc catalina promos. I like huggies better than pampers because they seem to have better coupons, they are eligible for the caregiver's marketplace rebate and i preferred the fit over pampers, cheaper and better quality imo!
