Pay someone to potty train?

The thing is many children will potty train naturally when they are ready. For some, it's 2-3 years of age. Others, it's younger than that. My niece was potty trained by 15 months.

With my first child, I pushed her hard to potty train. It was disasterous. By the time her sister was born 8 years later, I knew to just let it happen. Present the idea of going to the big girl/boy potty to them from time to time. When they are ready, they will pick up on it instantly.

I so agree with this, my twin daughters picked it up almost overnight about age 2, my son was about 2 1/2 and wore pullups till about age 3 at night. My friend who has kids about the same age started potty training at age 1 and had a "fun" year of it LOL. Her kids were about the same age as mine when they were using the potty. Some kids pick it up quick, others take a while longer.

Like citrixgirl, I also have a special needs child. She is 8 and still shows little interest in using the potty. I have tried all of the things that worked with my older daughter, but...no luck. I think with our 'special' kids something like this might be what is needed. My little one is a creature of habit and finding a way to make using the potty one of those habits.... would be priceless!

My child is not "special needs". at least he is too young to have a label slapped on him. He is almost 2-1/2 and is very delayed in his speech and social skills and has no desire to be potty trained. He doesn't care if he has a wet or dirty diaper (and he wears cloth so I know he can feel it). The thought of potty training terrifies me.

If this lady lived near me and I had a coupon I would probably let her do it.
