Default Re: 19 month old very hard to change = time for pull up diapers?

my son is the same (except he will be 2 on 5/08). My only problem with the Easy Ups is that he won't STAND still for those diaper changes. As soon as you get his pants and diaper off he takes off running and it's hard to catch him. I personally think that 19 months is too young to potty train, then again I don't know anyone else's kids but my own.

I think that if you aren't potty training then Pull Ups probably aren't the best choice. Easy Ups (or store brand if they even exist) would probably be a better choice.

I just wrestle with the little guy because its easier to hold him down for 15 seconds to change a diaper than chase him around the house. We use cloth diapers most of the time and I have gotten the folding and everything included in that 15 seconds. Yes, being a mom requires skill LOL

Good Luck!

My DD and SIL do not like pull ups becuase if you have a poopy load and you pull apart the sides you can not secure the bundle because the velcro will not resecure like a regular diaper. Also no quick 1-leg changes, you have to take off both shoes and both pant legs to be able to Pull-up a new pair.

The Pinenut gave me a wrestling match at every diaper change. I just give him something to hold that he's only allowed to have at changes. It cut down on the struggle considerably.

I think 19 months is too young to try and train.

We tried really hard to babyproof our house, but somehow, a couple of them still got in.

ty guys for all the thoughts on this topic! my daughter is 13months so i have a very long time to go but i have no idea how to start her on it..its always good to study these things ahead of time :)
also my 13month old is hard to change too, what she does is once i have the dirty diaper off and about to fold the other one on(i always have the clean one underneath the dirty one before i take it off saved me a lot of dirty messes, had to teach my MIL that) but anyways once i did that she will flip in less then 1sec over and crawl really fast laughing..for me sometimes i get angry but sometimes i can't help but laugh too watching that butt run from me lol

My DD is 22 months; I've had her in Pull-ups and Easy-Ups for a few months now. My original intention was to help her PT. Now that she is in size 5s, they are cheaper than regular diapers because of better Qs though! They hold pee just fine during the day and I normally put a regular diaper on her for bedtime. It's also nice to be able to change her standing up, ESPECIALLY in public restrooms!
