Default Re: Cloth diapers?

I have been cloth diapering for about a year now. And LOVE it we use pockets and AIO's. I have bought ALL my diapers used from Diaper Swappers - Cloth Diaper & Parenting Community
When I get all my diapers in the mail I always put them in the wash with just a splash of bleach. Congrats
And if you do use cloth you will love it.

Hello!
We don't have kiddos yet, but I already plan on using cloth! ;)
I'm going to try rumparooz.com (The diapers are WAHM made, have inner gussets and outside gussets to prevent leaks, ect.)
I'll be doing Prefolds, covers, and Kissaluvs for a newborn.
And I'm thinking I'll probably do 12 rumparooz one size to grow with baby,
6 bumgenius, and 6fuzzibuns. I'd rather do all-in-ones, just for the simple fact that they'd be easiest. Pockets are next.
When I first started looking into it, I came across the group betterbabybuttz on myspace. They're a wealth of info, and the woman who started it is Julie, the owner of Rumaprooz, so it's very helpful.

We've been using cloth since my son was under a year old (didn't know about the modern versions until then)!

My *fav* by far are pockets from Green Acre Designs.

But my DS has been known to run around in nothing but a snappi'd prefold too though!

Another cloth user here. Our favorites by far are the BumGenius3.0's.

Go to Diaper Swappers - Cloth Diaper & Parenting Community for an inexpensive way to try out different diapers to see what works best for your LO. It's a site where ppl sell off their diapers to change up their stash or ones that their LO has grown out of. I've found excellent deals on new, EUC and GUC diapers from there. I must warn you though, it's addictive! There are WAHM dipes and other products too, so you're also helping support the WAHM's, which I love. Good luck in your search!

Edited to say I just saw the other post with this link. Sorry bout that. Just goes to show you that it's an awesome site!

Wash routine for us:
cold water soak over night .. I usually put in a capfull of bleach.
Next morning, let water drain, then do a hot water wash with Oxyclean, and Arm and Hammer Essentials (green liquid stuff)
Off to the dryer, and we're done. I usually stuff them after they come out of the dryer .. saves me from having to do it when I'm ready to change Rachel.
Bleach is geat for killing germies and such, but it is really hard on fabric. It is best to not leave it on overnight, eating away at the cloth. If you add it during the wash instead of saoking in it your diapers will last longer. I learned this one from experience. Also, hanging in the sun gets out poop stains--this also works for clothes.

Bleach is a big no-no for CD and a harsh thing to have next to baby's soft skin. That's one reason to CD, keeping chemicals off the baby butts from sposies...I do a cold rinse with 1/2 c baking soda, sometimes leaving them in to soak overnight, then a hot/cold wash with 1/2 cap of detergent and 1/2 c vinegar in the softener dispenser and then another cold rinse with nothing.

Sunning is a WONDERFUL way to get poopy stains out.

Cold is best for the pre-wash, hot water will set stains.

I have a front loader. I would do a pre-rinse with cold, then a hot wash, then a cold rinse. The cold rinse is best to get rid of all the soap residue.
