Family Dollar ~ Question: Do you usually have problems using coupons @ Family Dollar?

I had to call the corporate office about coupon use. I was told I couldn't use a manufacturers coupon and a store coupon together. I was also told that I could not use coupons on clearance items. I went back to the store the next day after talking to corporate and the manager was on the phone with the district manager. He told her to take the coupons. She also looked up the policy, which I told her that you can use both together, and seen that I was right. She was very good about wanting to please me and thanked me for coming back to the store. I told her I didn't want anybody to get into trouble, I just wanted to find bargains and use my coupons according to store policy. She said she was going to get yelled at anyway but would rather please me than corporate.:shrug7:

I had a problem the last time I tried to use a $1/1 coupon for any size or type of Cat's Pride cat litter. The cashier told me the manager said they couldn't take the coupon. They said I had to use it on the item that was pictured on the coupon. They probably didn't like the fact that I was buying a small bag for $2.25 and then getting $1.00 off of it. I had to ask if they had anymore and the clerk pulled some out of the back. I think they were waiting for me. I will try a different one to see if I have any trouble. I have 38 more coupons to use!

I do the same thing wookin does. Put the coupons on the items, so that way when they are done scanning that item(s) they can scan the coupons.

It's definitely not you, OP. It's their weird system.
Their system is a total Pain-In-The-Butt, and the cashiers get major attitude w/ couponers.
However, it is MY paycheck and I prefer to stretch it as far as I can, while following the couponing rules.
Recently, I got flack about buying a bunch of Electrasol. 3 Trips back and they hadn't yet reached a definitive answer thru corporate and the local stores on Limits.
Then a week later, there's suddenly a new coupon policy on their door and their register, stating stuff we already knew. BTW- I didn't read anything on limits though.
I tolerate the bs, because the store is close, and a deal's a deal.

yes I did have tons of problems..I tried to use more of one of the same coupon, they said no..I had more than two coupons and they said I could use two that was the max...so one day I made seversl trips in and out and they did not like that eitther,so next time I went I had 10 0r 15 of the same coupon got the items and went to check out they told me I could not use but one, I made her call her boss right then and there.. and guess what she told the manger as long as I had the correct item for each coupon and the coupons did not say one coupon per visit or day that I could use them all..............

family dollar is just not a coupon friendly store.......
