Anyone know the price of the Bounty paper towels at Dollar General?

I plan on buying 24 Campbells cream of mushroom soups and using the $5 coupon and 6- $1/4 soups. This may seem crazy but we are out of this and we use this in at least 2 meals every week. I have to buy some this week ,I have been waiting for it to go back on sale and it's not happened quick enough. (feel free to make fun of my high soup usage, my friends do, but you can make some good meals using it)

I agree with you on this we use this in several meals as well.

Seems that I've read somewhere that DG will only allow 1 ALL purchase per transaction with the $1.50 store coupon. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct,they will only let you use one $1.50 store coupon per transaction. So if you have more than one then you can buy them in separate transactions.

So today I decided to take the plunge and start using my Tide coupons. not sure if a better deal is to come. I headed to 3 different stores, I like to fly low and not attract too much attention to myself One store was a young cashier telling me how bored she was no one was out because of all the snow. I asked her if she would mind if I did a second transactions and she was really happy too so this is what i did.
Oh before I forget to mention it.. Next week there is another $5/$25 coupons out so let the planning begin

So in 3 separate transactions I did. ( at 3 separate stores)

4 Tide @ $6.00 each = $24.00
1 up2 u gum @ $1.30 each
Total $25.30

- $5/25 coupon valid today
-4 Tide $2.00/1
-1 up2u gum $1.00/1
$11.30 before tax

Btw they are 40 oz bottles of Tide

I also did one other transaction with the nice girl who let me do 2 and that one was a slight bit different using a couple of all

3 Tide @ $6.00 each = $18.00
2 All @3.50 each = $7.00
Total $25.00
Coupons:
-$5/$25 valid today
-$6.00 Tide $2.00/1
-$2.00 All $1/1

Total before tax $12.00

Not too bad for a good soap and I didn't want to see these coupons go to waste. I still have another 12 Tide to use. I will hold on to them and see if any other deals come along between now and next Saturday if not I do it all over again next Saturday!



For today I look at it like this 17 bottles of soap for $40.00 before tax Equals out to be about $2.35 per bottle of soap. If I am feeling up to it I might break it down to cost per load but I think I always use more so really what is the point I am pretty happy I wish I has more of the All coupons but still time to trade for some the sale is all month.

This should probably go into the rants or some place (mods feel free to move it), but I'm extremely ticked off at Dollar General right now...so much so I emailed corporate headquarters. Now, I spend pretty close to several hundred dollars a month before coupons at Dollar General between being a grocery fairy to my kids and those in my ministry. Even after coupons it's over $100.

Today was the $5/$25. I picked up all my merchandise that was on sale on my list, had my coupons in hand including the $5 off I printed from THEIR website. As the guy behind the register began scanning, the coupons were being refused! Two were accepted out of the eight I had. The last six were kicked back including theirs!

I asked to speak to the manager. Doh! the cashier was the manager. He kept apologizing because the coupons were not scanning. He couldn't manually put them in either. I was told they were being refused because the item was "on sale" and he had no way of changing the computer in the register or get the register to accept them. Yes the items were on sale...that's why I was buying them! No, the amount of the coupon was not over the sale price. I'm not a newbie with coupons, I know how to match the quantities and sizes. It was ALL legit!

My total was $73 before the coupons so the $25 was not an issue. The coupons were manufacturer's not printed on my printer except theirs. After coupons, it would still be over the $25 required! I was so irritated, I told him to cancel the order and as I was walking out he had the NERVE to tell me to have a nice day and come again.

At this point Hades will freeze over first!

Hi there I am really sorry you had such a crappy visit to your Dollar General. On a happy not if you decide to try and do you shopping again after you hear back from your email you sent be happy to know next Saturday they are doing another $5/$25 again

I am not sure from your post which coupons you were having an issue with. I know in my experience even if your total was way over the $25 if you were for example trying to use an All mq $1.00/1 from the Sunday paper in conjunction with the $1.50 All Dollar General coupon the machine will not allow this to happen. If your order had the $5/$25 coupon scanned first. They can not over ride it manually. If that was one of your issues just purchase your All in a separate order with no $5/$25 coupon and it should work fine. ( This would be the same for any product that you are using a mq with a Dollar General coupon on, the computer sees the $5/$25 scanned and kicks all the other dollar General coupons from scanning.)
I know it can be frustrating it sounds like your cashier was nice about everything and really tried too bad he couldn't give you a reason as to why or give you an option that would work for you. It takes so much time to orgainize a shopping trip and to have to walk away and be frustrated stinks. On a happy not at least you cashier was pleasant and told you to have a good day and come back again. I have read where cashier bad mouth the customer before the door closes behind them

I put my $5/$25 first, 2 Pringles coupons, 1 Progresso coupon, 1 UP gum, 1 ALL, 1 Bounty, 1 Pepsi. That's all the coupons I was using. Only the Pringles coupons scanned fine all the rest were kicked back. I also had other items I was purchasing without a coupon. I was not using any other DG coupons. Clothing for a burned out family which I went to Wal-mart later and bought.

I got the $5/$25 their site on the web and the rest came from a Sunday paper. Yes, it does take time to clip, plan, and shop..this was only a quick trip for me, but still there is gasoline, time, and money involved. I might only live within 2 miles of two Dollar Generals but still it is irritating. I got the new $5/$25 on the receipt from a different store for the 21st. My grandson needed a band-aid for a blister after raking the yard.

Yes, the cashier was pleasant, but then I've known him since he was a teenager, too...life in a small to medium town and being a minister.
