Dollar General ~ Vent: DG won't take their own Q???

Just need to vent...

Went to DG last night with a $1 MQ and a .25 DG Q for the Energizer batteries. I had a feeling driving to the store that I was going to have a problem (I had other stackable MQ's and DG Q's for other products).

Walked in and saw my FAV cashier who NEVER gives me slack about Q's and thought "WHEW!!"

Well...that all went out the window when I tried to check out. Everything was going fine until we got to the .25 DG Q for the batteries. It wouldn't go through! She tried and tried and tried...even called the Asst. Mgr. to help and he couldn't get it to work either. He even looked at me and said "Can you use this another time?" I said "no...it expires today"...so he tried again..but the computer would NOT take it.

Finally I just gave up on it because the line was starting to get long behind me and the lady directly behind me was sighing...LOUDLY...and glaring at ME like this was MY fault. I just said "look...it's only a quarter...forget it." But I did say to my cashier "I'm not sure I understand why a DG computer won't take a DG coupon". She didn't get it either.

Ok...thanks for letting me vent....it wasn't the money....it was just the point that bugged me.

Myabe your total (before tax) was to low? I know at wags and CVS you have to give in a certain order to get it to go through. Just a thought!~

My Dg stores always have problems with coupons going through. They have to manually type them in. With all my coupons, manufacturer or Store coupons. I dont work there but I have learned how to do it so next time you can tell them how to do it..lol..

Tell them to hit the Key F 8 and go up to the item that the coupon is for and type in .50 or .25 cents what ever the coupon amount is for. I never have a easy trip to my Dg but they are very nice about it. Just watch and make sure they use all the coupons you hand them. Count them before you give them to them . More then once i have had them pull out all of the coupons to refund mine.
