    File Cabinet Old FAQ

Hi everyone. I am Rachael, the mod for Dillons.

Dillons is owned by Kroger and has similar ads to some of the other regions. I will post the ads and the deals that go along with them every week. The ad comes out every Wednesday and runs until Tuesday.

    Members card?
Yes, you do need one in order to get the sales prices and for your coupons to double.

    Doubling?
Yes. Dillons doubles unlimited coupons up to .50. Everything over .50 and up to .99 will make the coupon worth 1.00. Example, a .75 coupon will be entered as .75 manu. coupon and .25 store coupon.
Occasionally, Dillons does double dollar coupons and uses the same scheme, i.e. a 1.50 coupon will be worth 2.00. This is rare and can occur in just certain areas. The last double dollars was in October '05.

    Internet coupons?
Yes. Dillons accepts these and they will also be doubled depending on the value.

Also, Dillons has coupons on their website that can be added to your card. On some occasions, there can be some good deals. These internet coupons are added to your card and ready to be used after three hours. The coupon automatically deducts from your order. Moreover, you can combine these with manufacturer's coupons. There are also coupons at shortcuts.com and cellfire.com.

    Expired coupons?
Yes. Two weeks. This is the general policy, but it may be ymmv at the actual store. I have had a store tell me 9 days??? Usually ask to speak to someone at CS that looks like they have been there longer than one month. (lol).

    Rain Checks?
Dillons allows customers to get rain checks for items that appear in the store ad, not an item that is out but not in the ad. The amount on the rain check is YMMV. I have been allowed a check for 20 items, but on other occasions (at the same location) I have been told that the limit is 10. Rain checks expire after 60 days.

Right Price Guarantee: If the item rings up higher than the tag price, take the receipt to CS and you get the item free. If you bought more than one, they will give the difference for the other ones, only one is free.
Note: I always pay and then take the receipt to CS. I think that is safer than telling the cashier it was wrong and taking time at the register.

PLUS*** You can get a raincheck during double dollar days! If the product is out, bring your coupons to the cashier or CS and ask for a raincheck. They will staple the coupons to your raincheck and write double dollar on the check.

    Clearance?
Dillons, like Kroger, frequently clearances items. The item will have a red tag and say closeout. This can result in good deals. I will post the closeouts when I see them.

Here is a memo from corporate on policies:

    Re: Coupon Policy

The following are guidelines on accepting coupons, as well as our policy on Catalina coupons taken
from the Catalina Coupon handbook. If you have any questions on this information, please let me
    know.

Vendor-Store Coupons . The value of the coupon or coupons should never exceed the price of the
product that they are redeemed for. We do not give cash back on coupons. Vendor coupons must
be limited to one per item. The customer may redeem together, one vendor and one store coupon
    on a single item. .

If there are bonus buy coupons on the product, the customer may redeem these in addition to
one vendor and one store coupon, assuming that the total of the three coupons together do not
exceed the price of the product.

The customer must purchase the correct number of items as specified on the coupon. For example,
if a vendor coupon is labeled as $.50 off of two, the customer must purchase two of that product
for the coupon to be redeemed. They would not be eligible to use another vendor coupon on either
    of those products.

We give a two-week grace period on the expiration of vendor coupons. As long as the coupon is
redeemed within two weeks of the expiration, we may accept it.

When purchasing items that are Buy One, Get One Free, only one vendor and/or one store coupon
may be used. The item that is free does not count in meeting purchase requirements for a coupon.

Free Items Coupons No other coupons, vendor or store, may be used with a free item coupon.
The checker must legibly write the value of the item on the face of the coupon. .If the value of the
item exceeds the maximum limit of the coupon, the checker must still write the max value of the
coupon on the face of the coupon.

Catalina Coupons Checkout coupons are printed specifically for customers based on what
they have purchased, so it is important that you hand the coupons to the customer for whom they
    were printed. .

In the unlikely event a customer does not want their checkout coupons, or if the customer leaves
their coupons behind, tear the coupons in half through the bar code and dispose of them. It is a
violation of Company Policy to take them or give them to any other person.

Remember the customer's Plus Card must be scanned before taking coupons off of the order.
If the coupons are scanned prior to the card, they will not be doubled. The Plus Card should be
scanned at the beginning of the order whenever possible. Checkers should also be reminded to total
the order out before accepting all coupons. This is so that the register may properly verify coupons
versus items, after all Plus Card discounts have been taken off.

I will update this thread as necessary. Please feel free to ask any questions.

You can go to their website, www.dillons.com. In the middle of the page, there is a click on to see our weekly ad link. Then put in the city and state on the next page to see the ad.

Yes, there are catalinas at Dillons. A catalina is a coupon that comes out of a catalina machine. These machines are usually next to the register. At the uscan they are close to the machine that prints out the receipt. I usually make sure the machine at my lane is on if I know a catalina will print. The machine blinks green when it is working. The coupon comes out one a thin strip of paper and has red stripes on the sides! One way you know a catalina will print is if there is a sign by the price of an item. It may say buy 4 and receive a coupon for 2.00 off your next order, or something like that. Also, sometimes if you buy a certain product, like similac formula, you may get a catalina coupon for enfamil formula. If I know about a catalina deal I will post it with the ad, or separate if I find out about it after the ad.

lmk if you have any other questions!

Didn't know where to stick this Rachael. Sorry if this was the wrong place!
Sorry I didn't notice this earlier. I think I will make a sticky for catalina deals and we can post them there!

HI, I'm from Frankenstein, MO - about 45 miles outside of Jefferson city. I'm new to couponing. I've clipped them before but rarely used them. Jefferson City has a couple of Gerbes, One that I drive by on my way home from work.

Spring 09 we plan to upgrade to a larger home, so I'm hoping to find as many ways to save as possible. We are currently a family of 4 living in 1000 sq\ft (this includes the basement) w/ a yard but not very nice. We are purchasing my MIL home next spring which is @ 2100 sq\ft not including the basement w/ a very nice flat yard for the kids to play. My FIL passed away last November thus she is wanting to downsize into something smaller. She has one purchased but is doing all the remodeling prior to moving in. We plan to do the same

I'm also from Springfield, Missouri. I was wondering, when you talk about Dillon's specials on this page does this apply to all Dillons or are our local deals different?

Thanks, I'm new and trying to get the hang of this!
